Zoomers need to label everything and completely rewrite history. They have come up with some of the most illogical and stupid microlabels of all time. Shimokita-kei pisses me off the most.

The users of RYM want to make their own canon of music so they make up genres to boost albums they deem important that haven't gotten their due. Could be their own band/friends band/ or just music from their favorite scene or their local scene. It's all just nonsense and a small selection of spergs writing their own version of music history.

People who can't create anything new will often try to claim past glories for themselves by reinterpreting them.

RYM community fucking sucks. 2 Kendrick Lamar albums in the top 5 of all time? Ridiculous. It's a great way to catalogue the music you listen to though, and the recommendations feature isn't half bad.

The user album lists are literally the only good part of RYM once you find someone with good taste (for me, obscure JP shit). When I was younger and naive, I tried contributing by adding albums to RYM, only to see them rot in the mod queue for a year. I don't know if they even ever got approved. Garbage site.

Loner folk has been in use for many years. several compilations have come out based on it. once again the insecure /mu/ malding because the better side is more knowledgeable about music than them and doesnt spend half of its threads lusting over pop stars.

All genres are made up. Who cares when all it is is another way to narrow down music when you are looking for something specific.
