I have absolutely no musical talent, is there a way to become decent at bass? I suspect I might have a pretty low IQ although I've never gotten tested

I'm terrible at stringed instruments but I was able to figure out how to play some simple basslines, nothing too fancy but enough to get by. If I can do it then you can too

Depend on genre you want to play. Most of punk/metal basslines is just 3-5 note pattern repeated 30 times, literally everyone can play this.
