I've never seen an anthrax fan
They're in the big four, right next to Metallica and Megadeth, but never in my life have I seen someone say that they like Anthrax.

I've never heard someone talk about Death Grips out loud in real life before and I've spent a lot of time in like 10 different major cities in the US

No one actually likes Anthrax. I don't think I've ever met anyone who owned an Anthrax album or learned an Anthrax riff on guitar. There is probably not a single person on this board who could name even one of their songs. Their status as one of the 'big four' alongside three enormously popular and influential bands seems questionable at best. I always thought Testament or Exodus or even Kreator should be up there instead of Anthrax.

I wonder if they were just really popular and trendy back in the day but everyone just forgot about them

They were known. I remember one kid at school used to play them on his walkman. The only conversation I recall was about what anthrax is, this was before the war of terror we didn’t know about most of this kind of shit or care. They weren’t considered as good as or even close to Metallica or Megadeth, Slayer weren’t as known for a few years back then

America has this stupid obsession with mount Rushmore so you need 4 people for a catagory. They threw in Anthrax just because there was nobody else to make it 4

Scott Ian's manager is the most talented member of Anthrax.

I'm so sorry I'm not an insecure retard like you who's too afraid of liking anything because he's afraid any amount of people might perceive him as cringe

Yeah, you're definitely too young to be posting here. Not everything is about how others perceive you. You'll understand that when/if you grow up.

their big claim to fame is kicking off the nu metal sound

not that they really had anything to do with nu metal but every metal documentary ever always makes a big deal about the collaboration between anthrax and public enemy as being the first rap-metal hybrid fusion thing and has scott ian talking about how bring tha noise was really groundbreaking and how it led to korn and limp bizkit and slipknot later on which seems a bit dubious because I don't think bring tha noise was particularly successful or anything but I guess they technically did do rap metal before anyone else

The last time we had this thread somebody pointed out that their inclusion in the big4 marketing was a concession to New York show bookers and it made sense.

They didn't. Aerosmith Run DMC was before that, as was Faith No More. Anthrax did not pioneer nor invent anything.

Holy based. Assuming this is correct, it's all over for Anthrax. Out of the big four and into the trash they go.
And they would've got away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids.

Unironically, only tourists don't know Anthrax. They got lots of great albums and amazing riffs, their problem was that they didn't transition through the 90s in a "fashionable" way, like Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth did. The other big 3's albums were so bad that people made fun of them for that, while Anthrax's was just shitty in a mid way, so people didn't find their failure memorable.

Suck our latinx cock, bitch. Sepultura is by far the best thrash band of all time and the only one that produced good shit beyond '91.
