When did Math Rock go from jazz chords, angular riffsl unconventional meter modulation, weird fuzzes/effects, etc. to 4/4 twinks tapping shitty nonsense in the cleanest possible guitar tone?

When the initial emo revival decided that american football and capn jazz were the only emo bands that ever existed. This Town Needs Guns probably had something to do with it too

I dont know but math rock has nothing to do with math, its literally just about removing excess notes that repeat at a given moment in the guitar strumming or whatever the fuck. And letting the tuning do some of the work because the open notes already sound good asf. Thats literally it.

The only MATHY thing on it is that Chinks like it almost as much as white people if not more.
