They were an excellent band. Also, Debbie Harry gave me some of my first erections. (Yes, I'm old.)

For all the youngins who don't really know who this is or why she's cool. Blondie was a trendy, influencer/singer in the late 70's early 80's and when she was featured on a rap song in like 1982 or something her main stream cosign is what kinda made white people start taking rap serious and not just something black kids were doing in the ghettos of new york city. But she was the first major pop star to rap on a record and give hip-hop a main stream stamp whereas her fans and white people were like ok, if she says ok then it's ok. We can allow hip-hop to be a real thing. She's like the only white female that gets respect from the original hip-hop community.

You can always start with the debut, it's a great record. Parallel Lines is their most accesible so if you want a good sampler you could start there too.

Rap was created by a white woman in her 30s. How crazy is that

her song rapture mentions rappers that came before her, so basically you are fucking retarded. she didn't create rape, she's just an earlier example of getting a song with rap into the charts

the first 5 albums are all good, with the best clearly being the self titled debut and Parallel Lines.
Avoid the rest

Only matched in sexiness by Sabrina Carpenter and I'm an old-fag and seen them all and was listening to Blondie in my early teens.

Dreaming was their best song imo.

Hot chick, good singer, good band and cool tunes. She also did a photo shoot for Playboy before her music career, when she worked as a Bunny/waitress at one of their clubs (Chicago?).

First actual rap song is from the early 1960's and was part of a PSA from a department of the US government.
It's amazing to hear because it's much closer to what we think of as rap than GSH's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, for example.

Yes but which is the best one?
That's right, it's The Tide is High. Obvious really, though I would also have accepted Heart of Glass.
