I know no one is going to agree with me; in his latest video he decides to bag on AI, give a trick question and proceeds to discuss the major part of his video where he claims its not going to know or understand any part of music mixing ability and that most of this stuff needs to be taught or trained and cannot be scraped from a thousand internet archives, video or magazine transcripts from rick rubin to brian eno.

First of all, he uses the text to speech function; arguably the worst known feature in all of these fucking AI bots; its great that they can articulate but everyone is constantly trying to pluck their version of "AI" in this argument from an episode of Startrek and several 80s and 90s movies (WarGames, Space Odyssey, Terminator 2, Johnny 5, KITT, etc.) and it almost always fails, because the TTS isn't programmed to recognize huge number groups; I dont think trying to impress little kids and grown man musicians with mental problems is on their list of priorities right now, even though it'd really cool to cover massive number groups, which no one really uses.

Like hey, at what point outside of an episode of BillNye the science guy have you ever had to tell anyone "this is eight hundred and six quadrillion". Unless you're measuring the total amount of ants on earth like some kind of loser (why????), you're not using this in a conversation,

Second, AI, specifically ChatGPT has never been good with art prompts of any kind, from mixing to generating Ghibli pfps, to making character sprite sheets, to dropping your ex girlfriends face ontop of some hot supermodel -- it never works, and if it does, its after nearly 20 to 200 prompts.

Vergil from Devil May Cry 3 is still one of the worst fucking music grifters in music youtube for all time.
Don't ever expect this jackass to tell the truth, even when hes playing the chords alongside last months spotify top 20, and his books are a ton of horseshit.

It's a pattern I've noticed too.
The more proficient a musician gets, especially in theory the more lifeless their songs sound.
Also, so many music teachers on this planet and almost none of them have great songs.

Some of his interviews are cool though.

This is honestly the case for all music-related YouTubers. Because having technical knowledge has very little to do with sensibility.

It's like the Warren Huart guy from Produce Like a Pro. He's extremely knowledgeable and enjoyable to watch. But any time he plays a demo song to show a certain technique or plug-in, it's absolute trash. Then you remember his only real major production credit is The fucking Fray.

Even the guy from Cyberattack, who is a fantastic guitarist and absolute wizard of effect pedals, makes these incredibly quirky original songs for his videos - but his actual releases are awful.

He just had Justin Hawkins from The Darkness on for an interview, and made a point that he's likely the only truly successful recording artist to have a serious YouTube channel that he runs himself.

Which is likely true, but it's moreso that Justin isn't particularly relevant 20 years after his novelty song took over the world for a few months, and had to find something to do. But you can't deny that "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" is a solid gold record and Hawkins is an amazing vocalist. His channel wouldn't be worth watching at all if he weren't.
