the genre is so obessesed with structure and worship of people who arent even in the room when the thing is being performed. there needs to be a balance between the respect given to the musical performer and the composer of the music, you shouldnt be giving too much respect to the guy who isnt even in the room at the cost of the ability of the performer to use the music as a vehicle for personal expression. i like that kind of vitality in the music, the dead guy doesnt care, the living, breathing people in the room tend to appreciate it when you follow your impulses or mix it up a little to separate one moment from the next
