Gaga is very left leaning, but her dad is very right leaning and has donated millions to Trump. He also appears on Fox news pretty often. She doesn't care that much about it though, since she has a pretty good relationship with him, although she has mentioned her disappointment in his beliefs back in the day. I don't think Gaga cares enough about politics to let it get between her and her family. She still will publicly support the left with social media posts and perform for democrat events, which she most likely gets paid for. I guess it depends by what you mean by "getting political". Gaga still talks about inclusivity and defends lgbt people during her shows now, but I don't really consider that getting political since she just says generic shit about acceptance and love, she's not talking about trans athletes or kids getting on HRT. She was a lot more outspoken back in the day, including getting banned from Russia and China for calling them out for their treatment of minorities and supporting Tibet and Taiwan openly. She also called out radical Muslims groups back in the day for being hateful and getting her concert cancelled in Indonesia, and has since refused to perform in many hardline Muslim countries. In the US she was also extremely outspoken about social issues in her 20s, which made the general public get sick of her, among other things. But she's almost 40 now and whatever she had to say she's already said, she's been pretty passive on political issues for the past decade outside of just showing general support to the left.
