Not even close, bro, and I really like UH, even Uriah Heep themselves admitted not being as good as Purple, Sabbath and Zeppelin.
I like Purple, I believe they could have maybe realised so much more material if mk II had stayed together, I mean, they were tired by who do we think we are, but I believe there still had a lot to come, burn was though, but by that time Ritchie was thinking about rainbow already, wasn't he?

Mark II is one of the best rock acts ever and was insanely talented. They basically laid the groundwork for speed metal and neoclassical metal. They have some good stuff outside of that but Mark II was their peak. Pic related is just as good as any Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath album.
All I think of was when I was in the car waiting for my dad to get out of the liquor store on our way to a campground when I put Machine Head on and blasted Highway Star

It's not even a competition.
But what is objectively true is that Blackmore was seething like a bitch because he was playing in a corporate industry plant collective with replaceable musicians who were writing for the top gas station hits...
Unlike Zeppelin of who's Jimmy casual collected the best talents in the industry, immediately developed chemistry and played and wrote out of artistic passion.
Again, not even a competition.. the sweeth of Blackmore is real.
I really love the Mark Era I albums. Very psychedelic than anything they did after and they did it great. The Hey Joe cover mogs Hendrix's version but is largely forgotten.
If you combine In Rock and Machine Head with the first three Rainbow albums you'd get a band with comparable reputation to Zeppelin and Sabbath
Burn is one of the best rock songs of all time, ut the album itself is mid, aside from Mistreated and Sail Away
Purpendicular is also a good album

both Deep Purple and Uriah Heep mogged themselves with In Rock and Look at Yourself. the rest of their albums don't come anywhere near. it was the only time they ever touched the level of Zeppelin and Sabbath

Those same songs could be better live. So they mogged themselves too. And Jimmy or Iommi couldn't even come close to them live. Just like Beatles or Stones never came close to the Who live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CHSH2Oq5w0

plebs expose themselves hard when they call Hot Dog a bad song, its objectively well made. The true sole bad song from Zeppelin is Hats off for Roy Harper
>>128276150 >Silly whimseys >"Le bad"
What they have is couple of "not so strong" songs >Ozone baby >Darlene >Dyer maker >I'm gonna crawl
Most of which are product of the rotten era they were in, rotten position that the band was in or just hit or mis experiments. All of these songs would've been the greatest hit in any other avarage joe band, but because their discography is so strong it's not about picking a good song it's about finding "bad" ones.

Anything after Jon Lord left is phony DP. He was the bedrock of their sound through every lineup from the very beginning, even more than Blackmore.

this aint hard rock per se....but it sure as hell aint soft. Gregg wasnt as good as JL on the keys but his organ def was integral their sound.
