If critics are unable to discern what Lux is trying to say, is this album really as antithetical to the tiktok dopamine hit culture as suggested? A project that demands investment, but only rewards the listener with an exercise in navel gazing that amounts to nothing? Doesn't seem so hot a trade to me.

What are you talking about? She's not even "exploring" those themes on this album, it's all superficial. Her debut was just a lame attempt to imitate Sílvia Pérez Cruz. At least she kinda found a more honest style on Motomami, but that new song is probably the worst thing she has made in her entire career, literal slop.
