What is some music you would call poetry?

It’s not the same like it can’t be actual poetry if it’s music. There’s poetic lyrics in music, different kinds different poetic forms but they aren’t poems if they’re songs. Here’s a couple of what I mean

Tom Waits - Mr Siegel

Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryna make his way home?

Damn, such deep, so poetry

If God was one of us He wouldn’t be God. It’s anthropomorphic. Regina Spektor’s song is better and more accurate

Don’t give her any money until she denounces the Zionists

This song really hit different right after 9/11 though, you had to be there

It doesn't matter either way because God isn't real

It does matter because God as a concept has a definition. If you’re going around anthropomorphising God you’re not actually talking about God but something else which isn’t God

You're missing the point of the lyrics anon, it's not saying that God could literally be just a stranger on the bus, it's asking you to show strangers on the bus with the same respect you would give to God. You wouldn't look down on a God that wants you to do good deeds, so why would you ever look down on your fellow man?

Actually you are missing the point that it’s anthropomorphising God. Whether it’s literal or figurative it’s still wrong because it goes against the definition of God, as I already stated and you presumably don’t understand. It works if you say “what if a god (as in an idol) was a stranger on a bus” in which case it’s a kind of pagan song, but it’s clearly not trying to say that. It’s a stupid subversive anti-monotheist song and it’s like saying “what if the number 1 was actually not a single indivisible unit?”
Well, it wouldn’t be 1 then it’d be something else

Isn't Jesus a literal anthropomorphisation of God?
