this album is funny because alanis is an industry plant that they tried to make sound "alt", so every song is like a combination of a bunch of 90s indie tropes. that part where the phaser pedals go off in the bridge is cool.

The 90s had tons of these kind of acts even though they still weren't actually that bad yet because the musicianship and songwriting were still at a high level.

why do you regard it as some kind of conspiracy (industry plant, lol, her parents were school teachers, btw) that alanis and the other people helping her make the album used the same kind of soundscape popular at the time? i mean, that's literally what almost everyone recording in the time period does and why different eras have distinctive styles.
