Why did EDM stagnate so much and why are people still consuming the slop? Songs today sound exactly the same as they did in 2018. I used to go to raves religiously and watch the screen go from shrooms and molly to alchol and ket. I member when 2016 sounded different than 2015 and so on. Saw excision in 2017 and it was one of the best nights of my life, in 2018 it was okay and 2019 I was counting down the minutes for it to end cuz I was so bored. They could have totally camp up with new sounds but they refused. I heard some decent new trance songs but thats about it. Even DnB got worse. Visuals got worse also. Tipper sucks monkey balls but his visuals were great

you got blasé as you got to hear 1000's and 1000's of songs all built with the same handful of musical tropes..for me there's barely any evoltuion since the 90's, except minor sound quality ''improvements'' (as in mixing sounds cleaner, not necessarily better). the new genres that have popped up since the 90's are just lowering the standards of what a good song used to be, like some form of degeneracy.

Flume for instance, has bascially stopped putting out tripping cutting edge sounds. He peaked in link related then just reverted to making pop music. I was surprised his concert wss filled with Becky and Chad's, he didnt play even one of my favorite songs. I should have known better maybe, I saw this video on 5 grams of mushrooms and it was amazing so I just assumed he still had it in him

This video was clearly inspired by psycedelics bur when I saw like like in 21 or 22, his visuals were basic and the whole atmosphere was anything but psycedelic. I even had a group of people behind me talking shit about the drugs I was doing. Why were they even looking at me. Towards the end of my concert going days I kept hearing more and more people just talking shit about me lotteraly behind my back for like no reason, I saw people talking shit about other also for no reason. It was really weird. Like people making fun of people for not having fun. I even heard someone talk shit about me that I havent pulled my phone out the whole time. I thought I was hallucinating at first

Also, some freinds of mine went to tipper at the goerge and I was how qs it and they all said they just did a bunch of K and dont remeber much. Then I heard stories about how tipper and other band mate fought over xanax or some shit, dont get me wrong, I like xanax but still


Anyways, I really wish that sometimes I did adderal or xans instead of psycedelics cuz I fumbled a LOT of rave booty in my years. I didnt care at the moment but when I got back to the hotel and started coming down I felt lonely and regretted it. Except when I took heroic doses, never regretted ignoring women for that..

the upper echelon of edm literally turned into a circle jerk of interesting asmr type samples and sounds with no real new production wizardry.
listen to the evolution between 2010-2020 and it's mindblowing. from 2018-2025 nothing has changed except the trends and aesthetics.

most of the EDM genres are the same since 2010
a few mainstream trends were appearing up until 2015, but that's it
EDM music evolution is over, the only two things left for the future are genre hybrids and AI slops

Electronic music started to stagnated when wubstep became a thing. EDM got corportaized and you started seeing these giant ass festival shits. electronic music started being aimed at dude bros who would have been listening to korn if they were born like a decade earlier.
