video game music doesn't even make sense as a genre because it already is some other genre. it's just orchestral music or jazz. same concept with anime music.

nah nah nah I know what you're saying but it's something hard to describe and it's a very specific way of composing that makes video game music what it is. you just know it when you hear it. Similar to film score. Eclectic, but it is a style.
