My chart is in chronological order, I don't think Empire of Blood is the best album on that chart but it's up there for me. The riffs are good, it's got a good feel to it, and the production is way better than Vampyr. Black Funeral in general is very underrated just because they had some oddball releases people loved shitting on. Picrel is worth checking out if you don't mind some noise/industrial elements in your bm

The downside of this is that you will cut your overall experience short and you won’t gain anything new from listening to it like that. If you want to expand your experience the next step would be checking out the context (band history, discography, interviews of the band, and most importantly influences). The artwork symbolizes the eternal struggle of men fighting off the foid demons trying to subordinate them. To answer your question if the artist captured the black metal ethos: No, he didn't. The art work is too optimistic, too epic, and too heroic. However, even though he is lacking in technical skills, his uncivilized soul was able to see and understand the true nature of the eternal gender war which makes him redpilled and based.

pretty much only their first EP is thrash
their good albums start with Into the Infernal Regions, all albums from then on are solid
the earlier ones are more raw, starting with Ominous Doctrines the sound got more polished and they picked up a "cosmic black metal" theme. it's up to personal preference which sound you prefer
