When did rock n' roll become so respected?
If you say you like rap, people will either not care or look down on you. If you say you like rock, people will assume you're sophisticated and have good taste in music.

I think you retards forgot that black music has been mogging white music for decades at this point. Guess you've never listened to a classic hip hop record.
Let's compare a classic hip hop artist like Wu Tang with a classic rock artist like AC/DC... yeah, let's pass.

Wu Tang weren't from the same era as AC/DC so that isn't a proper comparison.

No it hasn't you moron and rap is a music genre that takes little to no talent to make it's a music genre devoid of musicianship. I mean AC/DC suck but still my point still stands and rock was the most popular music genre in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

Rap was more popular than rock in the 2000's and 2010's cause rock went to shit after the 90's but rock music still takes more talent to make than rap cause it's a music genre that has musicianship and singing, rap has neither.

Most of the kids I knew in the 2000s listened to rock. Yes even the shitty mallpunk/emo stuff but rap was for blacks and the most skeevy white trash kids who sold weed and whatnot.

Foo Fighters are a household name, not even most normies know Raekwon (compared against Method, Red, RZA etc)

Amongst whites, probably an even split
>Biggie vs Pearl Jam...
CLEAR black/white dichotomy there.

You do know that all that you said is easily debunkable with a single song, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJWYTetgsns
The song I pasted is literally leagues above any boomer AC/DC song in complexity, musicality, vocal skills (rapping and singing), production, sound design, etc., probably terms which you won't understand.

As he said, this is from a 1995 album while Highway To Hell was '79 so naturally studio tools and tech had gotten more advanced in 16 years.

Compare it to a Foo Fighters song, then. We're not speaking only about production (which could have been superior in 79 to 95 song, btw), but about musicality in general, and creativity. There's more variety and novel ideas in any classic rap album than there has been in a band with 30 plus albums. Let that sink in for a moment.

And what is the relevance of that sample to the discussion at hand? I mean, Zepp "sampled" a lot of classic blues records back in the day.

OK, but in one instance you have a band recording a new song based on an old tune, and in the other you have an artist using the actual recording and rapping over it.

There's ingenuity in using samples, but those are clearly not the same thing anon.

Why do you keep mentioning AC/DC? I already said they suck and even then pretty much all AC/DC songs are more complex than that song cause all AC/DC songs have musicianship, that song has none.

Also the vast majority of rap songs don't have singing like that song.

If the popular songs you love are gunslinging tales recited over a faux Bernie Worrell tootle, of course this wordy quintet will sound like some kind of change. Unison chants, schoolyard tunes, and goopy slow jams may not be how to rock anybody else's world, but gangstawise they add up to a new flava, kinda. Anyone musical enough to hum good, however, will find the concoction unfathomably dull even if they don't notice the cold hand of Eazy-E deadening beats from beyond the grave. C

A lot does, and rapping, lyricism and producing great beats is a skill. Tell me why these songs suck, then, and why the Bone Thugs song is miles above these pieces of shit: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JjHSgdQBzYw

Ironically, Zepp never paid those (mostly) black artists they "sampled", while most hip hop released on major labels give writing credits to the sampled artists.

Boomer cope. There was a time when the monkeys were children music and through nostalgia fagging and history revision they turned them into serious musicians.

Picture related. Disco demolition night, the boomers had a melty that gays and people of color had new music to fuck and do elicit drugs to.

Says a lot about rap music that a band that doesn't even have good musicianship like AC/DC still make more complex music than pretty much all rap songs a typical AC/DC song is more complex than pretty much all rap songs.

Now how about we compare a rock band that has great and very technically skilled musicianship (like King Crimson) to your average rap song.
