This was the Bicycle used by the United State military during the Second World war for support operations, the Columbia Compax Sports Traveler
>Single gear
>Step-through frame
>Wide handlebars
>You now realize the military were Cruiser-Chads
How will Gravel/MTBFags ever recover?

Man these things are apparently pretty hard to find nowadays and every example I see online looks like they've been neglected to hell and back. Maybe someday I'll find one to restore

this one seems alright. I get the feeling the frame is hi-ten and weighs 25 lbs by itself, though

Imagine riding a 20kg bike with 30kg load on it, brakeless fixed gear without foot retention, and you're wearing military boots.
What would you even do when there's a hill?

Another Bicycle model that the US military utilized during World War II was the G519 Huffman Model MG, another Chad Cruiser, and boy does she look absolutely beautiful

Skiptooth ring and chain, have a handful of old bikes with that setup, works really well and super strong. This is my '37 Colson with the teeth filed down to fit a moped chain.
