I'd rank private garbage trucks, those small delivery box trucks that don't require a CDL, and diplomatic license plates higher than any of those (maybe 3 counts as #2)

NYPD heroes ramming cyclists with their jeep because they're in a bad mood are also up there

I don't fear other cars when I'm out cycling most drivers are paying attention and if you're on the side and out of their way they're a non-issue
However, I have an unhealthy fear of some shithead parked on the street opening their car door right in front of me as I'm riding by

That's a you problem, never ride in the door zone. You'll learn. It may take a visit to the ER but you will learn.

Ok ill post.
>myself

>stupid faggots who go on a walk/ebike ride once every 6 months

>tourists driving

>woman drivers

>people in a financed bmw/audi trying to zoom on narrow roads with 0 visibility

I am far less scared of cars than i should be
For context my location is rural wales, cycling paradise. many events, many cyclists

That's weird. My last handful of more severe accidents (such where surgery was required) were mostly caused by male drivers. I remember one hag, popped my AC joint.

Personally the 39 year old van drivers are the worst but the 37 year old ones are fine. The 43 year old ones are meh.

In america cyclists are rare and the entire traffic infrastructure hasn't been destroyed for their sake with shit like 20mph speed limits and traffic lanes getting replaced with bike lanes so there isn't as much latent seething about them as in other places. The flip side is people don't expect them so the chance of getting accidentally hit is higher.
Anonymous No.2044714 >>2048163
>>2044712
Well here you get hit on purpose and I think you're wrong about the so called 'bycicle infrastructure'. It's entirely the cagers and a few wannabes idea. Everything was fine. But the cager isn't okay so they randomly start seething and come up with ideas how they can have the roads for themselves. Step one: Shill 'bicycle' infrastructure and ignore all the logical problems that come with it. Step two: Argue now that there is such 'bicycle infrastructure' there should be a law that contains the cyclists within the dyfunctional, slow, illogical death trap. Optional step: Run them over even more.
Also I think the idea of cyclists being common in europe doesn't really hold up. AFAIK theres not a single one in the village closest to me for example, and perhals not either in the next one. There's also not any such 'cycling infrastructure' near me, only once I get close to the next large city there's seperate cycling paths in some places and also those retarded lanes. Meanwhile the city is full of (((them))) and they only ever 'ride' their bicycles on the sidewalk anyways. So yeah idk.

I cant trust them because no matter what the fuck it is they are talking about its always
>we have it sooo much worse here!! Literally the worst!!
recently had a floridian tell me its literally illegal to ride your bike anywhere but the sidewalk
Idk man. they fixate on bike lanes, as if other countries have bike lanes that extend past one short section of road

the solution is simple and just to give a few hints: The problem is not the road, or the bicycle lanes or lack thereof, and not the bicycles, and not the cyclists abd not sidewalks either.
But we won't ever have that discussion on a large scale becauye most people simply become disingenoous if their preconceptions are challenged or god forbid the excuses they make to cover for their actions.

The combination of regulations, transportation planning, road layouts and driver training/exam conditions change the equilibrium more towards side of safe driving or unsafe driving.
I think you're better than that, don't allow your judgement to be flippant and shallow, please - it becomes a pernicious habit.

Bike lanes improve traffic if they cause more people to switch from cars to bicycles, but many bike lanes in America are so dangerous and poorly designed that noone uses them.
So the argument of "bike lanes make traffic worse" could technically be true in some cases, although the conclusion obviously should be to built better bike infrastructure instead.

Outside of town, it's middle aged women alone or in pairs and often times with a dog. Completely unaware of their surroundings and will walk straight into you once they become aware of your presence.
Otherwise e-scooters, e-bikes, or just seasonal cyclists who havr no idea how to handle themselves, drive in a wrong direction, go too fast ...
To a smaller degree pedestrians unaware they're on a bike lane and just blankly stare at you.
Also parents putting their tiny like 4 year old child on a tiny bike and making them drive on a narrow sidewalk next to a busy road, and the kid isnt even able to really drive straight, but somehow the tiny helmet is totally going to protect him if he swerves of the sidewalk straight into a passing car I swear to god.

None of those
I' say...
>E-BIKE riders
>E-SCOOTER riders

these people are absolute menaces.
I've seen many accidents they've caused hitting bicyclists and recently myself was hit and injured and my bike destroyed by an E-Scooter rider

they pay ZERO attention where they're going, usually on their phone, they're going way too fast and they're in the usual "bike spaces" like sides of roads and dedicated bike paths.
