Nah the hiring has definitely picked back up after two years of near complete stagnation. The difference now is that every month we break the record (set only last month) for people getting xyz rating. It’s almost the surplus that the military was creating in the Cold War. A lot of ngmi’s.

for pilots it's probably gonna be fucked for a little while. the shortage psyop got so many people to open their wallets (and/or their anuses for money lenders) and now there's gonna be a seemingly perpetual log jam for a while
but even ops jobs are kinda frozen at the moment, and i haven't seen ramp ops jobs available in my city either

It’s a competition. Are you better than most of your peers? OK you’ll probably be fine. There’s a lot of retards, shitskins and clueless women in the pipeline now. By the time a pre-PPL gets to the level of applying to 121’s DEI will probably be in the dustbin of history.

So just be better. If you can’t do that then I’d say quit.

shitskins and clueless women still beat out the average white man for a job at jewnited. You can't get rid of DEI without setting every HR department on fire and filling the pilot hiring team with exclusively white men. DEI is just the latest acronym for white women's love for destroying white men at every turn.

ATC certification is very difficult and the infamous “checkride” is no joke.

I know more than one pilot who went through OKC, graduated and couldn’t handle the pressure of being a controller so they got their ratings instead. For the majority of flying jobs there’s no question that ATC is way more difficult, way more intensive and way more demanding mentally than being a pilot.

Some exceptions are out there. A small segment of military pilots, agriculture pilots, many (but not all) helicopter guys, single-pilot floatplane ops…that stuff can be just as demanding as ATC with obviously high accident rates.

Here's a not so big secret. Most younger pilots are similar. For example, I'm gooning hardcore when I get in that hotel room. I can choose to goon, or explore the same shithole city with expensive garbage food, or hit the gym. So I stroke it until I gotta choke it. That said, women should not be flying aircraft, sorry to hear about the whores. Just another reason to never apply to jewnited.
Anonymous No.2052918 [Report]
I’ve fucked more married women pilots than all other married job types combined. They cheat compulsively, it clearly gets them off and is a huge reason they do the job. Not that all pilots don’t cheat, but the women are way more brazen and aggressive about it.

FWIW I’m married too and I cant resist it. It’s hot as hell. But man I do have a little bit of guilt sometimes whereas these women clearly do not.

I already have some money saved to start off, and I plan on staying at my current job at least until I get my private license (currently working as IT, yeah I know its easy money and all but I fucking loathe it).
I'm brazilian so the process might be very different from US/Europe, but I'm just looking for some general direction.

How are you time building? Are you paying for hours, or getting paid to fly? What type aircraft, what are you accomplishing like XC, night, simulated instrument time, etc.
Anonymous No.2053041 [Report] >>2053053
FYI of the 10% or so of people who fail their LOE its pretty much all timebuilders (as in paid to fly VFR safety pilot to ATP mins) who fail. Being unable to do the job of CFI, or even worse being unable to pass a CFI checkride, is not a good sign.

Washing out of 121 training is very bad. Vastly worse than primary training checkride failures. Realistically a 2000 hour pilot with a 121 failure is behind people with 3+ checkrides failures at ATP mins, or to put it in even more bleak terms behind a 0TT pilot about to take his first discovery flight.

So if you’re gonna do timebuild just stay sharp and ready to learn
Anonymous No.2053053 [Report]
>>2053041
There is a big difference between having a bad go during LOE the first time, but coming back and getting it on the 2nd try compared to actually “washing out”

I have no idea why you didn’t just keep the CFI job, put it on the back burner taking only the bare minimum work to stay employed, and then timebuild anyways. That way you get the benefits of timebuilding without the stigma of being a timebuilder.

BTW that stigma is real and has plenty of basis.

i talked about it to some colleagues and it seems to me that the profession (handling big machines and doing a real job, not a made up one) just attracts a certain type of man.

If you're at 25 hours multi then unless you got a job flying multi's there is no way you would be able to pay for enough multi time that would matter in any way to an airline. 25 hours vs 100 hours is the same for hiring. If you haven't paid for your own ATP-CTP then that would be the best bet to make yourself hireable. As far as tailwheel vs seaplane goes, neither will make you pop out on paper, but the tailwheel is pretty fun.

little different.. much smaller and way longer wings, and instead of using a giant rear elevator, it uses canard to induce stall faster.. so instead of giving it a second drag surface, you give it giant wings for legally flying higher over the ocean (the laws are usually based on wingspan)

i made a little styrofoam model and threw it close to ground, it works without big rear elevator, when i removed the canards it instantly did a backflip..

(the idea is basically a flying kayak that can soar a bit higher than normally legally allowed, not a giant plane, or a true plane in that sense.)

it's mostly the training that's stressful, knowing the airspace at first seems pretty straightforward but there's enough weird situations that come up that completely bend the rules of what you're supposed to do. Severe weather is the biggest thing and SWAP season really stresses everyone out. Normal ops days are really chill though, biggest problem we have is just low staffing and fucked up schedules. Certain areas are just dogshit at training and haven't certified any new CPCs in at least 3 years.

Consider your options, and otherwise if doing Part 61, how to grind XC PIC and simulated instrument with another guy splitting time. 25 of the 40 instrument hours can be with a schmuck PPL, only 15 of the 40 hours must be with a CFII.

Although the mother had not been instructed on how to correctly hold her infant during takeoff and landing prior to the occurrence flight, she had been shown how to hold an infant on previous flights. As instructed previously, for approach and landing, she was holding her infant against her chest, with the infant facing aft. never. five billion years from now when the sun runs out of fuel and engulfs the earth flight schools will still be operating the same fleet of clapped-out 1970s pipers and cessnas

Well maybe at least they will eventually replace turbofan engines with some electric stuff and it will become so cheap that scaled down versions of it could be put into four seater single engine aircraft or something? That's just a cope, isn't it

Based grinder. Your time will come my friend, but I'd recommend you avoid UA unless you want to be junior to cackling retards your whole career. Come to (my legacy) instead and be junior to me, a greasy fat fuck. I buy drinks for the FO on the layover too if that sweetens the pot.

I do fueling and stuff and this united shop has me come over and fill to 26.0 they basically want to max the wings and whatever with the middle. Around 8500 the right wing starts venting fuel. The MX guy was like hey it's leaking looks like something is loose. So I just wrapped up the fuel truck and left lol usually it's a big deal, overfilling a plane, but it was kind of funny not getting in trouble Cause it was a MX issue

I would never admit to working at the best of the big 3 (for white men), but regardless thats bullshit, plenty on non flow civilians are getting hired. The published numbers for 2025 so far, Jan 1 through Sept 3rd have, of the 64% of non flows hired, half are civilians. So update your app and get your bachelors.

Lol so there are a few more flights and I guess the package volume is up. I kind of wonder what UPS will do about maintenance. It looks like maintenance spends a lot of time in their trucks. It the untrained eye it looks like a lot of pencil whipping

PHAK, Instrument Flying Hanbook, Instrument Procedures Handbook, FAR/AIM, Aviation Weather Handbook
>What ground school
Flight Insight or whatever is cheapest. Just read the books and you'll be fine. Get gouge on what your examiner wants.

flown both, boeing is better than french junk. The bus is designed around keeping third worlders from crashing, it climbs like shit and cruises low. If only Douglas still made jets like the safely designed MD11.
