Seems like the transition from bus to guideway vehicle takes too long. Too time inefficient for transit especially considering that buses are already at a disadvantages for time against cars

If demand on that train line is so low that just those buses run on it (assuming it doesn't also get regular train service) then it's only a question of time until the line gets closed and the buses put on the regular roads to save costs.
tl;dr it's a good idea but largely pointless because of the expense involved

It would be cheaper to pave that area than run rail
