I'm not a bike guy. More into knives, guns, swords but I needed a form of transportation and got a "JETSON BOLT PRO X".

There's not a lot of info on the interwebs on it. I can't tell if it's a brand new model or not. What do y'all think of it? I saw Ebikes that looked more like traditional bikes and was wondering what the pros and cons where for this "scooter" style frame with the small wheels vs a trad bike frame/size.

What would y'all modify on this thing? I'm considering taking the dinky little bell on it off.

you should probably upgrade the pedals
wellgo pedals of your choice would be fine. this type would be my suggestion but as a general rule the more damage they will inflict on your shin the better they work

Thanks bro. I do have access to some salvage bikes I could strip for better parts. I was thinking of mounting a flashlight somewhere cuz the intergal light is kind of weak.

The only upside of those little bikes is they take up less space everything else is a negative.

I'll be as honest as i can with you, stuff like that is GREAT if you have little space for anything bigger. However, ebikes that use traditional style frames are probably the best you can go for. Less weight, gear changing, and larger wheel circumference really are important for riding. If you REALLY wanted something ranging on the smaller side, get one of the absolutely MANY motorcycle style bikes out there.

Fr though yea it is cheap shit but after riding it everyday, it's been alright. The range kinda sucks but I've seen tutorials on adding extra batteries. I think I can polish this budget bike up into something nice. Thinking about adding solid tires too. At 15mph max speed, I shouldn't need too much shock absorption from aired tires.

Hijacking this thread. Is there anything wrong with this ebike? I don't see many reviews online but best I can tell it's just cheap because it's an older model. Checks most of the boxes I'm looking for, namely no suspension and mid-drive motor.

Why wouldn't it work and why don't "pedal assist only" bikes basically just do this?

looks fine to me. BMC is a reputable bike shop brand and bosch mid-drives are solid. price seems very good. nice that it comes with a headlight. the only bit I'm less than certain of is the unusual stem - might want to do a little research on that thing.

most/all simple sensor/microcontroller circuits boil down to checking voltage on the circuit and dumping that number into more or less complicated algorithms. not sure what your question is.

I am familiar with that exact bike. It's a beast. I think they're cheap because they're heavy as fuck and there's newer/lighter shit out there. Just make sure it's set up properly, some of those components are not exactly common and a less experienced shop may fuck it up. If it's properly set up it's a solid choice for commuting.
