How does one ride a bike in these kinds of paths?
No sidewalks, no bike lanes, no other infrastructure, trees and rocky terrain elsewhere, rolling hills, sharp turns, cars coming out of nowhere.

Is it possible to bike safely and ensure the safety of both the cyclist and driver, or does one need to find an alternative route? What if this is the closest path to a destination? I don't even think this is safe for drivers.

the cyclist stops to let the cars pass if more then one queues behind him or its clearly gonna be a while until a safe pass can be achieve (blind corner, hill etc) When you share the road as a cyclist you do your part. I mtb mostly and I dismount in the backwoods to let atv side by side and or trucks go by every single time. i'm in there territory.

If it "feels unsafe for drivers" then the drivers are feeling it too, and they're going slow. Places like that it's usually one car at a time, and there's plenty of room to pass. The biggest threat is anti-cyclist drivers whose ego gets wounded by just knowing someone exists on a bicycle. Those people may intentionally run you down or at least try to run you off the road. But normal people, generally, should not be a problem. But I wouldn't push my luck by riding out at night on st patrick's day or something.

ride to the right (or left if youre a bong/jap/hongkongian) and check your mirrors for niggas attempting to overtake (and go further out to let them)

Which is why these roads are slowly going away as they get more developed. In 1956, 50,000 people died on the nation's highways, in 1986 only 46,000 people did, despite tripling the volume. That was because twisty little backroad highways were closed, replaced, or upgraded with newer standards of highways, and 60% of those happened in rural areas.

In almost all cases these days upgraded roads will have some sort of bike lane or sidewalk.

I ride shitty roads like this most of the time, you just need to be aware of incoming traffic both ways, thats why I use TriEye™

no but seriously, you need to be aware of cars coming from behind at all times, so you can predict and go off the road when 2 cars going opposite directions intersect
thats the dangerous situation in riding tight 2 lane roads

Yes in America.

I'm not surprised you think so, though, the average urbanist is so detached from reality when it comes to suburbs...thinking that commute times are measured in hours, apartments and multi-family housing doesn't exist in suburbs, and that even the nearest corner store is miles away.

They are though

and

are not suburban. Definitely rural. And it's going to be a long, long time before those roads get sidewalks or bike lanes. Probably never.

That's what I do, but I have yet to invest in mirrors so I just look behind every so often. Also strobe lights during the day, steady lights at night, see and be seen. Still annoying having to deal with cars.

...What do you even mean? Just ride your fucking bike dude. There's no way the speed limit on a road like that is even going to be higher than 35 mph anyways. The absolute worst that can possibly happen is the car behind you has to wait while you move over to the side to let him pass.
How come people who don't go outside think their opinions on the outside matter?

I've seen roads like that in places where it's not in the city limits but it's suburbanized anyway and the county doesn't like to spend money on widening roads, places like Baton Rouge (which has replaced roads like that over the years) and Knoxville.

Like >>2056504 says these roads have low posted speeds precisely because of this fact (narrow, twisty roads + hidden driveways).

Pretty sure white people just shoot cyclists on sight in florida so I am surprised you need to worry about getting run over by a black person

I just rode around the poconos on a road like that, did I just luck out? The drivers were going slower than me.

in the fuckin lane, fast, and visible
not off to the side of the lane, make people slow down behind you and really swing wide to pass you

Apparently you ride it wearing completely black lycra while bot having any illumination on your bike.
At least that's what I keep observing.

Bum bike with saddebags, handlebar bag, oversized backpack and a homemade bike trailer, fully loaded. Wearing flea-bitten army surplus camo.

So the farmers will wonder whose land you are planning to squat on. And maybe run a little grow operation.

There is nothing gayer than putting mirrors on a bicycle. If you're legit worried about it just buy a rear light with radar and/or a camera.
/\nonymous No.2056614 [Report]
Best actual advice I could give (apart from not riding there) is a light up high, on the back of your helmet so you'll be visible to cars cresting hills sooner.

I used to go jogging on a road similar to that no sidewalk only grass or dirt on the side and the cars will actually move closer to the middle of the road or make way for me 90% of the time, just be aware of your surroundings and leave enough space for cars to move past you thats it

What makes it safe is the six lane highway two miles off to the left that sucks away all the through traffic. I cycle on roads like that all the time but what makes it safe are the few cautious vehicles instead of constant thunder of trucks.
