>What's stopping you from buying one? Be honest. As for me - I'm poor neet.
I rented a first gen for a week to see what it was like to live with, they're definitely "fun" to some degree but when you need to triple downshift just to pass Karen's van on the highway while buzzing at 3k+ rpm just to do the speed limit is fucking miserable. Terrible as a DD and not worth the effort to make it a sole weekend warrior, for what its worth and it's capabilities; I would just get a bike

I tried so fucking hard to like these cars because the interwebs are constantly orgasming to how amazing they are.

I drove 3 different ones, negotiated with dealers, even hooned the shit out of one from CarMex. I was left super disappointed.

They are SO fucking weak, don't even drift/slide that easily (much easier and more fun in V8 Ameribarges), and have the same fuel costs as a V8 (GayR86 needs Premium, V8s run fine on Regular). Insurance costs as much as a V8 too.

I couldn't find a single reason to buy one unless you are literally an Initial D autist who lives on a mountain pass and LARPS everyday.

Actually, the back seat is pretty handy. The seats fold down and you can actually fit a pretty respectable amount of stuff in the trunk with the seats down, including a full set of tires. Besides that, it's useful to have a backseat because somebody might end up squeezing back there occasionally. At least you have the option of carry somebody in the back if you ever need to.

the Challenger has full double bones, the same p/w ratio as a Miata and a 52:48 weight distribution (also same as a Miata). It gets over 30 mpg on the highway and seats 5.

the v6 Challenger exclusively features the ZF8 hp45 (hp50 on AWDs). The Dodge version of this gearbox is upgraded with extra clutch plates and fluid capacity compared to the BMW spec ones cars like the Supra get.
my previous two cars were manual and frankly the only thing I miss is being able to drop the clutch and skid, and you can actually modify a ZF8 to do that, albeit it's a very expensive and involved mod that requires soldering shit to the internal mechatronics.

idk man in my personal experience the v6 chally is faster all around. much, much longer legs, no torque dip, massive fucking powerband, and no-lift shifting.
straight off the lot every car is a bit of a dog including the 86, a chally is no exception but with mopars some very simple and cheap mods can produce good results.

Then what is the best Toyota sportscar?

Personally I wouldn't consider the Yaris and Corolla GRs "sports cars" and both the 86 and Supra use other companies engines. So it boils down to do you want a BMW powered Toyota or a Subaru powered one I suppose.

The GR Yaris was made for rally homologation, it is literally a car for motorsport

It should be a pure 2-seater. 2+2 is retarded.

The Miata's problem is only being available as a convertible. Only boomers like convertibles.

I would happily sacrifice some sportiness for more practicality. I4, slightly higher, more useful interior. At that point it wouldn't only be more viable as a daily, it would also work as a sort of Group 4 Rally tribute car.
