I don't get the obsession amongst "car enthusiast" about Apple car play and android shit. Any old single DIN with Bluetooth or Aux cord worked for 20+ years, is this just another Jewish trick?
>>28449635
It wasn't the intention but now it's so car companies can learn your Apple or Google ID to sell your phone's data, driving telemetry, or serve you targeted ads (that last part is still being worked out). I never saw the issue with AUX or USB, still use AUX.
>>28453033
no aux is amplifying the output from your device further rather than using a low power line signal.
So you have to have your device turned up and be at the mercy if its DAC
>>28454180 >no aux is amplifying the output from your device further
Why so? I don't see any reason to make a dedicated input and leave it as it is, but I'm a total noob.
I have AUX cable spliced into the OEM XM receiver line, so my case might be special, though.

And I looked up the audio description and operation section in the repair manual for my car that does have an AUX input from the factory in the head unit. That unit is connected to the amps through the optical bus, so it looks like any signal (be it the radio, the chimes generator or something from the aux input) gets amplified.

I kinda like yelling at my car when I want to hear a specific song. Having Traffic alerts is also pretty decent, saves me time and lets me re route earlier/lessens delays.

I came to this garbage thread specifically to call (you) a retard. a commercial line level analog signal will always sound better than bluetooth. if it doesn't your signal chain is fucked or your cable is broken/too long. line level is not even 0dbu of power which will barely drive your headphones let alone a woofer. of course it's amplified, in fact it's most likely preamplified as well.
>>28453033 >>28454180
Sorry yes both the amp in you phone and car are in use hence it's shit because your phone isn't just outputting an audio signal.
Assuming you play your music off your phone
>>28456813
signal chain 101: every signal upstream should be as hot as possible without clipping for the best signal to noise ratio. if you can max it out without clipping do it.
>>28456370 >>28456807 >the shitty headphone jack on your phone is line level. kys
The output on your phone is made to drive a load (headphones) Line out is just analogue signal.
At this point you're just trolling.
