>>28460619 (OP)Slightly, since pretty much all my cars are solid steering shaft, pre-airbag death traps. The only thing you can do is pay attention, drive defensively, and hope you don't get unlucky. It is what it is.
What is bad?
Got in one about 14 years ago. All I remember is leaving work at 3pm then I woke up in a hospital bed at 3am. I only had a scar on my lip and a broken shoulder though.
I'm at peace with the fact that one day some glassy eyed indian is going to decide my day has come and T bone me.
>>28460619 (OP)I got into a head on collision in my shitbox. As I was spinning around I literally thought "I wish I was in a super duty right now." Shits crazy. I crawled out of the car on all fours and made it to the curb as cars where honking because I was in the way. Once you experience something like that you realize how little life is valued.
>>28460619 (OP)not really. I've been in several and as long as you're belted in, you'll probably come out fine.
It's not a big deal, dont be a pussy (and wear your seatbelt).
Yes but not because I'm afraid I'll get hurt, but because it will happen once I finish sinking all of my money into the work on my shitbox.
>>28460619 (OP)yes but only because it would probably be my fault
>>28460619 (OP)If it happens it happens. If you live life terrified by the possibility of something bad happening, you'll miss out on all the good things happening too.
>>28460785you probably wouldn't be saying that if you ended up in a wheelchair forever.
>>28460642My parents got in a bad wreck similarly, they had taken my moms car for a trip instead of my dad's truck to save on gas. She's paralyzed from the chest down and he's got a TBI. Life comes at you hard and fast.
>>28460788I'm
>>28460792This whole situation with them cemented this life view in me. Sure, I'm careful as hell especially since I drive a big rig and can easilly kill people or die from a slight fuckup. But I don't get paralyzed from fear.
>>28460619 (OP)already happened. but not enough to damage the entire car. The bad thing is my memory of that event did not come back to my brain RAM more than 5 years later.
Broke my femur in a wreck when I was ten. got sideswiped on the freeway by a unlicensed immigrant driving a minivan in my lowered 280z spinning out across all lanes of traffic. went over the hood of an suv that pulled out in front of me while riding my motorcycle. was rear ended by a distracted driver last year. I'm not afraid of driving, I'm afraid of LA.
that is a really strong mindset.
I got rammed into a mile marker by some nigger 2 months ago at 120kmh, didn't stop me from doing Dusseldorf to Amsterdam in 1 hr 30 min at 180kmh average speed on the Autobahn
I'm legitimately more afraid of falling in my room at night going to pee than I am of car crashes.
>I have seen my make/model car crashed hundreds of times drag racing
>know full well they get peeled open like a cardboard box
>I know without a doubt I would be easily killed in any wreck even maybe low-speed ones
>still regularly run it up to 150mph on bald tires
Only on my bike but that's cuz I'm new to it. No such fears in a car
>>28460838kinger actually has powerful supernatural abilities like telekenesis but he forgot about them.
>>28460827>P U S S YAverage speed nigga since dutch fag government doesn't allow speeds over 100kmh

>>28460619 (OP)My car is literally pointing a claymore mine at my face at all times, ready to tear me to shreds if I even have a mild crash.
But no I'm not particularly worried.
>>28460835Bro just buy some good Michelins
>>28460619 (OP)Not afraid, but aware of the possibility. I consider youtube crash compilations mandatory viewing for anyone with an IQ over 5 because the things you learn about the depths of human stupidity are literally lifesaving. Goes triple for if you're on a motorcycle.
I have avoided at least a dozen potentially very harmful or even fatal crashes as a result of expecting people to do the most retarded thing possible at the worst moment possible and having a plan for it instead of running on reaction speed alone.
>>28460788You are now manually thinking about the nonzero possibility that you could suffer a stroke or brain aneurysm tonight, leaving you paralyzed or dead and marinating in your own exrement until you are found by random passerby or someone who cares (lmao) that you stopped showing up somewhere. Are you afraid yet?
>>28460619 (OP)Obviously depends on where and what you drive. I feel comfy going 90 on a certain stretch
>>28461152My dad had almost the same thing, in a 4-door green model After an collision insurance settlement involving a heavy van, he upgraded to a huge 4-door Newport Custom. It was powder blue overall, and a massive 7.0L V8 engine, at the least.
>>28460792>She's paralyzed from the chest downPerfect, I can cum at her hard and fast and she can't run away
>>28460619 (OP)The only thing I am afraid of is surviving the crash

>>28460619 (OP)nope, my friend drives around 50s beetle and is fine but one time he and his wife drove new suv and drunk bastard crashed into them, then their car crashed into truck and his wife died
brand new suv was massacred beyond recognision. I stopped believing that new cars are safe. Everything is game of probability and luck. No matter if it's new car, old shitbox or bycycle, death is random and when dice rolls X I will die, no matter how much I try to protect myself
>>28460619 (OP)Already died in a crash once, they can't do it again. State law.
>>28460619 (OP)I'm concerned about getting rear-ended but that's a minority of crashes so I should be fine
>>28460619 (OP)Sure, I often think of something failing on my 92 and my crashing on track.
But fuck it, what else am I gonna do in life?
Women in my age group are all cooked.
So who cares?
Might as well die doing something fun.
>>28460619 (OP)Not particularly. I'm pretty judicious when it comes to driving according to conditions, and arranging things generally to avoid long commutes. Dan, by far the best driver in my extended family, is kind of unbelievably good at it: About 9/10 of bitches and bastards who've gone as far as he has has totaled at least one car, but he's never been in so much as a fender bender.
>>28462678Track is the safest place to crash. And you're inside a metal cage. If you want to worry about something worry about your LDL and HDL.
>>28462780Yes, they are. I've always been satisfied with the sets I've had
>>28462975>Cageanon, I told you I don't care at this point.
A 120lb 12 point roll cage would slow my car down 0.2-0.3 seconds a lap.
Unacceptable.
>>28463009Oh I just meant a car at all, rather than a motorcycle. Cars are big comfy soft safe cages.
>>28460619 (OP)Nah, i've wanted to die for a long time.
>>28460619 (OP)Not really. More afraid of surviving a bad wreck rather than just having a bad wreck.
>>28461195You are now manually breathing
The massive size of modern cars does legitimately concern me. Combined with the fact that they are often being driven by middle aged women who can barely see over the steering wheel or some retarded guy on his phone, it's not difficult to see why the rate of car crash fatalities has increased in recent years. Random people with no real driving skills or awareness are driving huge tanks that can accelerate at sports car speeds for no real reason other than that it's fashionable and they make you "feel safe" while becoming an absolute menace to society yourself at the same time. If I get married and have kids I'll probably just buy some big dumb SUV just to join the arms race and help my paranoia
>>28465564You are now manually digesting
>>28465619There's a very slim chance they'll get banned in the USA.
Yes that's why I try to minimize lifetime highway miles. I'm not just worried about dying, I'm worried about acquiring a disability or even just a permanent hit to my health and physical endurance.
>>28460626It is what it is. I survived my crash in my lap belt death trap (unfortunately)
I'm worried the cops are gonna stop giving me a break and reduce my ticket when they catch me going 20+ over

did he ram you, and you just continued driving?
i hope you got his plate, have webcam footage or whatever so he can pay your bill
also omg, captcha lined up perfectly dont even have to slide
>>28460619 (OP)Every time I drive I hope to get in one and die.
>>28460619 (OP)Just remember it takes two people to have an accident, and only one to avoid it
>>28460619 (OP)actually, yes. It has me considering selling my boiracer 2019 civic type r and getting a 2016+ lexus RX350. I also have a toddler and that would make it a little easier as well. It's a dumb fear but most of my spine is already fused and I don't want to risk more damage from a retard drunk illegal rear ending me (houston).
>>28460619 (OP)I don't even wear a seatbelt so I fly out the fucking car like Arnold Cunnningham in the event of an accident, I literally can't afford a new car so we're both dying.
>>28460850Max speed here is 130 at night, so you can get up to 180 without losing your license.
>>28465619man i like little cars and little weird things but yeah, you just know how easy for sudden death mode to activate is. i saw it a few months ago, some dude get run down from behind on a intoxicated van driver, while turning left on a major intersection. how the fuck was he supposed to not only look right while focusing on turning left, recognize a van coming from the least obvious direction, and then get out of the way when it mowed him down from behind? he was fucked. get a car is the only answer. a big one.
Nah. My car was made in 2016 lol, structure wise its as safe as its gonna get, without distraction nanny tech like beeps and lights that "warn" you, which is the main "safety innovation" since then...

>>28460619 (OP)This dunya is temporarily brother, I will die in a crash if Allah wills it. The problem is not mine to worry about
Not afraid of getting into an accident per se.
I'm only afraid of being responsible for one. I don't give a shit what happens to me physically, I just don't like being at fault for anything.
>>28460619 (OP)>aren't you guys afraid of getting into a bad accident one day?Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy
>>28460619 (OP)no. you can control a lot of the dangerous aspects of entropy in traffic by simply passing groupings of cars and paying close attention to other drivers. if you make it to an open road and still crash you're retarded.
>>28460619 (OP)Not really, I accepted long ago that about the only way I'm leaving this earth without killing myself is a traffic accident
Eventually one will happen and I'm not that worried which
>>28460619 (OP)I am. Thats why i dont drive like a moron. I have dreamt of crashing at least three times.
>>28471700I wish that was the main safety innovation, it would mean they stopped before implementing shit like the car detecting you crossing over the lines and jerking the wheel back even if you were doing it entirely on purpose to avoid a hazard or change lanes
When I do get into an accident I hope i kill at minimum 2 boomers or minorities
>>28472189whyd that fuckin one come to your mind at this particular moment. whyd i hear it in my head. fuck you.
i do not fear dying in a car crash.

>going to work Thursday at 10am>overpass over railroad tracks>barely a car length between me and the guy in front of me>15 year old Honda CR-V shaped hunk of rust just swerves into my lane, inches from hitting me>have to slam breaks at the top of the bridge>proceeded to be stuck behind this guy the whole way to work>dude was all over the lanes, somehow hit multiple curbs on straight roads>when he went left at an intersection and we were side by side, he was the exact phenotype I expected It's insane how I'm able to accurately predict their ethnicity 90% of the time. >mother suddenly turns completely around from the driving position and yells at us "HANG ON WE ARE GOING TO ROLL"

>three times
>as slowly as possible. as slow as physically possible to roll a full sized lexus sport suv from the 90's, a big one

>car comes to a rest, and ambulances and cops roll up
>triage starts
we were on the to speech therapy lessons. i wasnt speaking, or making any verbal noises waaaaay after the normal development cycle. so when triage gets to me, im a kid who SHOULD be screaming, crying, thrashing. instead, im dead silent, and i dont struggle, or move. triage goes full fucking nuclear, i must be suffering hardcore brain damage. they tie me to the stretcher with...bath towels, full sized bath towels, each one a half foot wide. they shove a toy animal into my fa-man, what a nightmare of a memory, i dont want to talk about it anymore

tfw its been 25 years on the road. I speed on the highway constantly but go 5km over max on main roads. No tickets and no accidents, not even close calls... and I drive in the shittiest part of Canada. It's all about paying attention and reading people's behavior
>>28473382a good driver inspects the weather and road conditions before driving. if it is anywhere near 32 degrees out ice should always be expected. my point still stands.
>>28474268and when did i ever say i wanted safety. one of my favorite cars at the moment has a back seat where the passengers spines double as your crumple zone in the event of a rear ending. i specifically want the opposite of a safe car: a small one (when the average car on the road is a lifted monster truck billowing black smoke carrying the heaviest load it has ever transported: THREE bags of groceries)
