Not sure what the deal is with the ABS/DSC yet, it comes on intermittently after driving for a long time, but the OEM ABS sensors ones are $150/each I believe and you need 4. The DSC yaw sensor is about $900.

it literally needs $5k in maintenance now. I already bought new tires for her and saved her a bunch on repairs a couple years ago. Everytime I come home to visit it's another $2-3k in repairs for this shitheap, and the next thing to go will probably be the engine.
I don't really care if she gets a miata, it's just the exact same car but not shitty, and cheaper to repair if it breaks. She could get a 430i convertible or audi TT convertible for all I care, but I'm trying to steer her towards something that's more affordable than 20 year old BMW.

Get your local auto store to scan the car for free, it'll tell you outright what corner ABS sensor is malfunctioning.

Ebay ones work and they are about $30 each.

Also, as cars age they get grime on the rotating assembly that the ABS sensor is measuring. You pull the sensor out, shove a rag in and rotate the hub to clean it.

Stop being a fag and buy some tools.

You can get all that done at an indie shop for under $2.5k
No Miata is gonna beat a Z4. If she really wants to upgrade look at a Supra considering they're both from the same plant.

All that stuff you listed is easy fixes. You literally just plug in a new sensor. Flat head screw driver and crescent wrench tops to do that.

Thermostats are a wear item so it can’t be that hard to get to.

And the hydraulics that raise the roof are in the body, which means lots of room to work, super easy barely an inconvenience.
