I don't want to sell my car, but it's been sitting unused in the garage for like 3 years now.
I love the car, but I don't have the time or money for it, the flame has died.
It's been a "someday" project, but it's just deteriorating with time.

Just ranting, I am turning into that car hoarding boomer with a rusting shell of a car he'll fix up one day (he won't)

My E32 750i landbarge.
It's the only german car I've really liked, I know I'm going to miss it a ton after it leaves my yard and in this economy I'm never finding another one again.

Hold onto it then, anon. One of my cars is utterly irreplaceable even if money was no object so I'm never letting go of it, even though I barely drive it these days.

I could use the money and I don't drive the car, was trying to sell it off for 5 grand because for some reason it doesn't want to rev past 2k rpm anymore, dunno if it's a stuck fuel pump or just the battery I'm using to start it not being enough. Those are already signs that it doesn't seem to enjoy the neglect.
It used to be a "simple fix" to get it past inspection, just needed rear tires, but then I got busy and everything kept piling up on me.

Buyer already called me and told me he isn't paying 5 grand for it, can do 4 at best. I dunno if I should let it go or just let it rot in my garage instead.

Grand cash and a nice Sako RK95TP/M92 and she's yours.

Also I got off my ass and found out that the rev issue was due to a faulty connection between the cluster PCB and the EML ligts, soldered a wire and it revs all the way to redline now.

So you'll now have to do 1k cash, an RK95TP and some 7.62x39

Just open it up. Get the head open and check it. Its easy.

I would never do away with a car i like if its only engine problems.

Rust…is another thing

It's a spotless chassis, unheard of in Finland and for an E32.
I know as I've owned several.

If you're in the southern part of Finland I can give you 4500€ for it if it's really spotless. 5000€ if the interior is good, I just don't want it to rot on your yard.

Unless youre about to go homeless and selling the car is the only way to not be, just keep it. I was in the exact same place with my E30. Fixed a junker up, tore it apart with grand plans and then it spent the next 5 years on Jack stands while I got distracted with other projects.
I contemplated selling many times but ultimately it ended up being the only shitbox I didn't sell. I realize now that I would have greatly regretted selling it.

Either fix it or just sell it off. Don’t be like those faggot boomers that leave their cars rust away for 30 years to a point that is unrestorable. Too many cool cars from previous eras have gone this way. Even if it were no longer in your possession, would you not feel glad to see it driving and loved? I sold my C4 years ago and kept touch with the buyer and we speak sometimes, he tells me of the stories he has with it. I’m glad it’s giving him joy just as it did with me, after all i’m part of its history too. Just let it go if you can’t muster the will to keep it going.
By the way this type of obsessive hoarding is why the classic car market for anything pre-1970 and not a halo car is crashing, younger generations never got to enjoy or grow a love for those cars because they were hoarded in garages by boomers that never drove them or left to rot in a field unsold.

If you can afford fixing it up do it then you idiot. Do you even have anything important to spend your money on? Unless you are married and have children or run an actual bussiness, the extra money you make SHOULD be going into getting this car rolling again.
I plan on getting a 7 series to fix up myself in a few year(s) when I am comfortable with my current income and have a daily that I wont have to worry about failing

Škodas, plural.
Yeah I'm beating all my money and savings on Soviet cars, was planning on using the money to have my Volga professionally repainted in "Antarchite gray", so that Audi NPC gray before it was a thing.
Also need parts for the coupe Škoda, need parts for my dads Škoda and my sedan could also use some wilwood brakes.

this alone was enough motivation for me to get off my ass and actually fix mine up to (properly) driveable condition, after a full year of doing nothing but some minor electrical work on it.
