Indian even owned by Polaris now is still better than Harley. the bikes are better, the gear is better and at least what made me switch the customer service is better.

there's no real reason other than brand buy Harley (or if your man-child 1 percenter)

what do you think or is there another brand you prefer like honda?

Better in what ways? They look nice but just saying "better" doesn't mean much.
I like all brands of cars and bikes, they all have good or bad models.

"the bikes are better, the gear is better and at least what made me switch the customer service is better."

the bikes ride smoother the parts look better and are higher quality, and less likely to break down. the gear they sell is actual good and worth the money and the customer service is great

They do appear to have better finish but your whole premise is vague. Obviously a Scout will ride smoother than a hardtail, and harleys have been using water spot cooling on most bikes since like 2010.
I'm glad you're enjoying it though, that is the point. They're sick bikes.

As far as I'm aware, they only cool the heads on bikes where they can hide the radiators like the Road Glide.

>Customer service is better

Mate bought a 2023 Indian Pursuit, brand new
>Check engine light came on, clutch switch
>Took it in, technician "fixed" the problem
>Tech only moved the lever adjustment from 3 to 1
>Mate moved the lever back to his preferred adjustment position, 3
>Switch doesn't work
>Check engine light illuminated
He's taken it in four times now to two different Indian dealers for this problem. Last time he took it in they told him it cannot be fixed.
>I added a dab of epoxy to make contact with the switch
>Problem solved

>local Indian-Ducati-Yamaha-Honda dealer is beside the area's only Harley dealer
>no one is ever at the Harley dealer, and when there are people, they're fat boomers
>just saw news that the HD dealership is shutting down permanently
part of me is sad because I hate seeing businesses fail, but it's also been a long time coming

I still think the Pan America looks cool and want one, but everything else is ass

>Fuckin' Willie G comes down in a private plane and we have a bbq lunch at the facility.

Good times. I still like Harley though, never would own one unless it was cheap.

Now that I'm getting older I kinda want a recliner on 2 wheels. I was thinking an Indian Scout but theres just flat out not that many used for sale near me. 1 very clearly ridden home and immediately posted for sale, like dealership stickers were still visible and 63 miles on the clock. And another one that looked like it was well taken care of with 12,000 miles but $1000 off MSRP somehow.

Went to the local polaris dealership that had a shitload of Indian bikes. I sat on a few, disliked the $14,000 base prices, and couldn't get any salesman to look at me. That Polaris dealership is now a generic redneck powersports dealership. I don't even see motorcycles on display anymore, its all SxS's.

Indian apparently has worse QC than HD somehow. They're more attractive bikes but rather expensive for what you get and the constant "they're junk" sentiment turns me away from the brand.

if all you want is a comfy cruiser, you're spoiled for choice

I can grab a 20 year old V-star 1100 with 20,000km for like $2000. why entertain buying new when you're not looking for performance or tech?

>just buy someone elses abortion of a bike!
Friend, I have a 14 year old bike now, I've had a 30 year old bike and currently finishing up a 42 year old bike. I don't have to have new but wanted to sit on one and look at it up close which is why I went to the dealership. They even had a couple used models and as I stated in the post, there was like 2 for sale within a 50 mile radius on Craigslist.
You have to understand, a lot of guys will buy $30,000 cruisers, put 400 miles a year on them, and think they're still $25,000 bikes because they're still paying off the loan. Yeah I can get some clapped out harley for $5000, but I don't want a harley.

I really don't want HD to die and be gone forever, but it's like trying to help an addict who refuses to go clean.
Part of me thinks it just needs a kick in the pants to get its priorities straight.
I totally agree about the Pan American though, I'm hardly a biker and it's tempted me. HD has always been considered out of date and overly expensive, so until they shake that reputation they're just going to keep relying on boomers

It's time for you to buy a "real" "Indian" bike like the Royal Enfield. One important rite of passage in India in your youth is to do a buddies Ladakh trip via a Royal Enfield.
