>>28470782If it's a cruiser you want, look for a mid-2000s or later Honda shadow. They are everywhere. You can find 750 cc 45 hp shadows all day every day for 1500-3k, and the engines are dead reliable, even at higher milages. The 1100cc models aren't much more expensive usually either. It doesn't struggle with highway speeds.
Or really just any metric cruiser from that era, they are almost all carberated and there tons of them for very cheap.
DO NOT BUY A CAFE RACER FOR YOUR FIRST BIKE. Cafe racers are basically a style of modification done that emulates the style of Cafe racing bikes from like the 60s. Any Cafe racer you buy is going be either way too expensive for what it is, or someone's hack job they booger welded back together.
Just go buy a used cheap 750cc cruiser. it's going to be more than enough for your first ever bike. It's a good mid sized cruiser to learn on, tons of aftermarket to customize. You can always sell it and upgrade once you get your skills up and take what you learned you liked and didn't like to influence your next purchase. Keep in mind, engine configuration on bikes matters too as far as power output goes. A v twin like a shadow isn't going to push hp or top speed numbers like a 4 cylinder would of similar displacement.
Go take the msf course. It'll get you up to par with the basics of riding, at least enough that you can actually learn to ride from there. Riding has a higher skill floor than driving does.
