Boomers are obsessed with these things for some reason but I think they look revolting even though they were styled in an otherwise good era (early-mid '60s).
I've heard of younger people being interested in otherwise boomer-tier cars like 1st gen Mustangs and tri-five Chevrolets, but never of some zoomer or millennial lusting after an Avanti.

The lack of grille and bug eyed front just looks disgusting to me. The rest honestly isn't that bad, it's just the front end. There's plenty of actual good looking designs from that era, on the other hand.

They all drive these here. They keep trading them in for the newest generation of ugly fat bloated abominations on wheels. I swear the trucks are evolving to meet the boomer buy pressure by becoming more chrome, more tall but also more lower to the ground at the same time to get in and out of. It's like seeing a wall driving down the road.

Because the Avanti company bought the rights to the car after Studebaker ended production in 1963, which allowed them to keep producing the same car - along with a few increasingly ugly variants along the way, which rich boomers ate up for literal decades until the owner which bought the company in 1999 got arrested for fraud (in '06).
Yes, they even thought the version with the shitty, tacked on plastic bumpers and blackout tape over the chrome looked "good". It certainly wasn't gen x, millennials or zoomers that were buying any of these at all.

C5, C6, C7 are built on very similar platform and rhe C8, C9, 10 likewise will be on the same platform with minor changes. C5 is when GM wanted to serially compete with Corvette again and C5 is also when they started dominating Le Mans. They have like 19/24 victories since the C5.
Sorry but thatโ€™s a retard 1980s take you got there.

Also C6 Z06 weighs like 3000 lbs and has 500hp. Ids probably the best sports car still to this day and itโ€™s really as close as youโ€™ll get to a GT3 car without buying a GT3 with maybe the exception of the 997/6 GT3

The answer for OP is certainly a sporty crossover like the Mustang EV or a BMW X6 which is a market segment created to cater towards old people with money and back problems.

I think the original Avanti is kind of weird looking in a sexy way but I also like the Mercury Cougar years with a similar weird inverted C-pillar shape so maybe I'm just autistic. I mean you have to be kind of autistic to like Studebakers in the first place. But also the Avanti was fast as FUCK and that's cool on its own.

I was gonna say Yukon but yes. I was in my wifeโ€™s Prius C parked next to one and the hood is nearly as tall as the roof of her car. Just mega bloat.

Is buying whateverโ€™s available in the lot a Boomer thing? A lot of the older generation seemed a little surprised when I told them Iโ€™d ordered a vehicle and it was in the process of being manufactured.

>They could have put in a 5.0
The pushrod 302 was last used in a passenger car in '95, it was last in the Explorer until '01 and made almost 50hp less than the Thunderbird. The modular 5.0 wouldn't arrive for 9 more years. So where was this magic 5.0 coming from?

I wish people understood that any time they're hanging onto anything other than the steering wheel they need to stop fucking around and get a seat with actual bolstering.
back when cars hand bench seats they'd just throw you into the passenger seat if you fucked around and didn't know any better.

And I feel like this is 95% of the reason why comfy couch bench seats don't exist anymore. I remember being a little kid and experiencing being thrown around like a rag doll on a bench seat.
