Most of the people buying C8s are not car nerds, they're boomers who want a weekend toy. I think initially supercars and high end sports cars like ferraris were styled like this for aero reasons in the late 2000s-2010s, and now other brands are copying that but without any true aero benefit (fake vents, fake exhausts) because they want to associate with brands like lambo and ferrari.
Also, who cares? You can still buy a near mint C5 for $20,000 or less.
