A110 Appreciation Thread
Isn’t it weird that so called enthusiasts opt for some weird FWD cuckboxes and even non-M BMWs instead of picrel?
And then they say hilarious things like
>you can’t even feel it’s weight

While I appreciate the A110, as a little daily i'd consider it. However there's one problem. I'm from the UK and Lotus exists. Why would I spend 30-35k on one of these when I can pick up a series 3 elise for 10k less. And if I was going to spend 35k on a car like this. You can generally start picking up V6 Exiges for 35-37k. Which is where the problem for the Alpine lays for me.

All four corners, and a good enough setup that Gordon Murray used it as the benchmark for his T.50 at that. The chassis isn't the problem.

that car is not even in the same realm as the a110. it's a stripped out uncomfortable track day car. it's really cool too, but let's not pretend it's anything close.
Evora and Emira are closer rivals, but even those aren't as easy to live with as the Alpine.

Not a company with a future, and not a company worth supporting, sorry. This thing gets raped by an Alfa Romeo 4C anyway.

Muh stripped out car. Driven an Elise, it was spartan in luxuries but the seat and suspension was comfy. You can daily an Elise no problem. Mate of mine at work does (same one I drove). The nearest thing the Alpine tries to be and draws comparison to is the Elise considering engine sizes too. However while the Exige is more hardcore, for that cost I'd buy an Exige V6s. However if you want to draw the Evora in, sure. There's a 2010 manual example with 55k miles for 25K. 10k less than the A110. So again, my point stands. Why in the UK would I buy the Alpine, when I can buy a Lotus. Albeit, Elise, Exige or Evora for either cheaper, or a better one at a comparable price. I don't know why you think they are harder to live with than the Alpine. In other countries, maybe, but here where we have maximum Lotus support, why would I get the Alpine?

they will do whatever it takes to stay in business. EVs don’t sell and they will go back to ICEs, just like the other brands

The A110 is noticeably lighter and has a significantly more compliant ride. It's the better choice if you live somewhere with particularly bumpy roads.

post your A110
oh wait....

yet another benchracer larp thread.....

anyway I raced an e36 coupe last night, it was significantly slower, I wonder if it was actually a 2.5 or a 2.8, they are about 20hp less than me, 10-13 years older than my 400k km engine, and I am like 200kg heavier, so I am pretty sure it was a 2 liter, or it was really clapped out lmfao
oh and it was lowered like shit so it had to slow down a lot on speedbumps lmfao

Yuropoor here.
These things deprecate like crazy. An 1 year old A110S with like 10k km on the clock goes for 50-55k.
that’s not cheap but it’s a true driver’s car with low production volume.
If you happen to have money, it’s a great choice if you can live with flappy paddles instead of a stick
