I don't think I can post here anymore, guys.
I started my new job at my local Honda Powersports dealer yesterday. I don't want to seem like I'm shilling or pushing when I'm just trying to have fun. My other friend who works for Harley stopped using his favorite boomer forums when he started, and I think that was a good idea. Maybe if I move onto selling cages or just something different in a couple years I can come back, but until then... Goodbye. :(

Love this thing, wanted to do the first service myself but the jewlership told me I shouldnโt bc I run the risk of voiding my warranty.

What's the point of having a heavy and *comfy* 30k bike?
You can buy a car for more comfy feelings and be actually safe for less money.
Are people dumb?
If you want safety and comfort for crooosing just get a fucking car, it will probably have a bettter gas mileage too
>see the letters E and F next to each other
>>28472777My ass and knees shouldn't be on fire during a long scenic ride. Manufacturers used to know how to make good seats.
>>28472777>4 door triumph street tripleehh, kinda based
>>28472745Depends on a few things anon.
I'm about 1.85m in non freedom units tall and the windscreen works very well, the turbulent wind from from the screen goes about to my neck and stays off my helmet so that cuts out a lot of noise, I also wear ear plugs and have a decently isolating lid that cuts down on most of the wind noise. I can comfortably sit for an hour and a half at those speeds before fuel starts to run low and I get fatigue from all the noise.
It's decent enough protection for an "everything" style of bike.
Try to schedule a test drive if you can, most yamaha dealer's I rang up when I was looking to buy had a t7 for available for a test ride.
Bros I want a ninja 300 but there's none to buy from authorized dealers, all they've got is warp-drive variants capable of interstellar travel. How does one even buy a beginner bike without being sold a second-hand lemon

>>28472613>would you trade your bike for an R7?Not a chance in hell, I went up to 243 last weekend and was consistently getting smoked off the line by my buddy on his XSR700 and the same has happened with a vstronk650. This bike weighs 470lbs and makes about 100hp. Itโs really not that quick all things considered.
But the feeling from constantly screaming it out in each corner, downshifting to 10k and screaming it back up to 13 on my way, the feeling from that smooth power delivery where you canโt even notice how fast youโre accelerating, the feeling from the sound it makes all throughout the powerband, the feeling I get parking it and looking back at such a beautiful and dense concentration of early 2000โs sportbike heritage and culture is all unmatched. I love my FZ6, thereโs very few bikes I think I like more after getting to know it so well. I love motorcycles bros
I would like suggestions on what armor bike gloves are better.
Mostly for falling on ground, or some junk I guess.

>>28472806>>28472799The only thing that really matters is how padded/thick the palm is, and whether or not it has scaphoid sliders. It's very common to fuck up your arms/hands trying to catch yourself from a fall at speed.
>>28472799I recommend the scorpion exo sgs gloves, I've been wearing em for three years and the only thing that's broken is the rubber covering the strap cracked, but the velcro and everything still works fine
they're also still pretty cheap for gloves that come with scaphoid knox sliders
>>28472795Buy used from a decent seller. If you're not mechanically inclined or at least willing to learn, bikes are not a good hobby.
>>28472798I work that poor little 700 pretty hard to accelerate at a decent speed, the FZ6 has the better motor.

>>28472823lol you do be putting in the work but my point wasnโt that it was slower than the CP2 but that it wasnโt as โpracticalโ.
I did a stoplight race with a friend on an R7 once and FZ does come out on top after it hits its peaks at 10-12k lol
>>28472827The only thing I think I would give up the FZ6 for would be if they put the 750 engine in the nu-katana and gave it a proper gas tank and bench seat for max comf road tripping or maybe a fully tour prepped busa.
But thereโs nothing Kawasaki or Honda makes that seems nearly as appealing to me as the FZ6. The VFR would be a winner if it wasnโt so fucking heavy and had the radiators mounted to the sides

>>28472869Get a 5th gen vfr. 500 pounds is literally nothing for that bike especially how well it hides its weight. Radiators on the side isn't a big deal, the fairings protect them adequately against damage. The kawi is objectively an inferior bike, most machines are compared to that gen of interceptor

It sucks but all that safety stuff a car comes with is what you wear.
My neighborhood riding group finally went for our first outing yesterday. Mix of beginner bikes, big boomer-esque touring bikes, and performance stuff. Harleybros were waving at us and giving us space even though we were a group made up of no Harleys and mixed shit, meanwhile Jackasses on liter bikes were bombing past a couple inches from our newer riders for no reason.
Where's this stupid meme from? Those fatasses on hogs were the ones being the coolest. Racing past someone on a kawi eliminator or RE Meteor who's already uncomfortable on the highway that were trying to help gain confidence isn't helpful.
Otherwise fun ride and we got our newer riders feeling better about longer(ish) and group riding. Hopefully we can continue to do this and grow everyone's skill. Not exactly the riding I normally do, as I had to keep up the rear for safety as one of only two guys in our group with group experience, but helping my neighbors is fun enough.

I went downtown Friday night, looking at all the nightlife and stuff going on. Was trying to find a good spot to take a new pic so I stopped on this back street in an old warehouse district. This car pulls up under the viaduct I wanted to use as a backdrop and just sits there for a minute. I'm watching it because I'm in a kind of shady area. It eventually pulls out and I think it's leaving so I relax a little, but the reverse lights come on and it's backing toward me. Now I'm even more alert. This dude gets out of the car and just stares at me a second before walking toward me, and I'm staring back at him because I don't know wtf he's doing. It's a weird part of town, I'm in front of an old ass warehouse, there's nothing around but train tracks and the viaduct, and it's 1AM. I become keenly aware of how long it would take to pull my gun out of my jackets gun pocket.
Dude says, "how ya doin?" Pulls out a key, and goes in the buulding.

>>28473791Its hard to tell but I think he was going to go wide and pushed in harder, running out of tire. It also sounds like he may have added throttle at full lean.
>Like do you really need to lean for a highway ramp?He has another video on his channel where he is running lap times and that ramp is on his rout. Looks like he is using highway ramps as a makeshift track. I'll admit Ive done stuff like this too, but I'm smart enough to do it early mornings on the weekend when there's hardly any traffic out.
Rode for the first time for the street for real today, with cars and traffic. I almost feel like it's a little safer at dusk since cars can actually see my turn signals, lol.
But I have a technical question, about engine braking. This thing has stronger engine braking (when letting off the throttle) than any other vehicle I've seen. At first I was stopping by using the clutch and the brake like they taught me in MSF course, but I realized it brakes much faster if I DON'T pull the clutch in. By the end of the ride I was doing it both ways, engine braking when I see the red light and then pulling in the clutch and using the real brake when I'm closer to the light. Is that how most of you do it? Is tons of engine braking bad for the engine's health over time?
>>28473542you can do 105 you'll be fine. just hold on tight and lean forward

>>28473796Its all luck. I know someone who went down in race leathers at 5mph and is fucked for life. I know squids who are invincible. I just wear an amount of gear that keeps me comfortable and doesnโt make me not want to ride out of inconvenience
>>28473800>a strong foot planted on the floor in case you lose balance at a stopBy flat foot you mean both feet down right? You said it yourself: a (one) (an) (a single) strong foot
Just put one foot down. The only time I ever have both feet down is when I need leverage to haul this fat bike backwards up over the lip into my garage
>>28473810Engine braking is good, and shouldn't hurt your engine, it's how I do most of my deceleration, but I'll normally at very least drag the rear brake make sure my lights come on.

>I almost feel like it's a little safer at dusk since cars can actually see my turn signals, lol. Its not, there will be cars without headlights, tired drivers and angry rushing drivers. Early morning is safest if you want that
>This thing has stronger engine braking (when letting off the throttle) than any other vehicle I've seen. Thats because its so light. It foesnt have higher compression than your car, but being a 5th of the weight makes a huge difference. Its one of my favourite parts about riding motorcycles
>At first I was stopping by using the clutch and the brake like they taught me in MSF course, but I realized it brakes much faster if I DON'T pull the clutch in. You are meant to pull the clutch in as you come to a stop, not while slowing. If you are slowing to a stop you need to be changing down the gears. Go between braking and downshifting while you are learning, ie
brake, 3rd, brake, 2nd, brake, clutch in, click 1st while stopped. Worry about rev matching and shit later
>By the end of the ride I was doing it both ways, engine braking when I see the red light and then pulling in the clutch and using the real brake when I'm closer to the light. Is that how most of you do it? No
>Is tons of engine braking bad for the engine's health over time? No, it absolutely loves it. You are getting the energy you spent as fuel back as braking, its free brakes

NOPE
Cars barely see you during the day, make it a little darker and the people a little tireder and theyre gonna blast through you like an altima passes a school bus
>>28472675Some find them comfortable. I size my apes at 14" + 2" risers which is common for those around 6'2". I did USAF MSF demos with them on my FXR and other bar styles on my other bikes. Not a problem whatever.
Cross-country was not an issue because not bar height but width and handgrip angle are most critical to comfort. My apes angles are fairly close to the XLX (looks like classic airhead BMW bars but 1" OD) bend bars I use on other bikes.
The only handle bars I find actively hostile are pullbacks because of their awkward wrist position. Ergos vary so much I suggest every rider sample a variety of bar and footpeg positions to find what fits their body and preferences. For example some stunters like motocross style bars (which are excellent for that).

>>28473915They were certainly in vogue in Europe when they came out. Many G.I.s bought them often having ridden their air-cooled predecessors in CONUS.
>>28473921>>28473923I don't think this particular model came to my country though. I know the TZR 250 came but I'm unsure if any RD was sold here. Probably much more common in Italy and Spain
Gonna go look at a Dyna tomorrow, guy has it listed for $5900. If I can get him down to $5k even I'm taking it, wish me luck fuckers.
>>28473627Does a low side during parking lot practice trying to drag knee count? I went into it knowing it was a possibility and it happened. Only time I fucked up. I was able to fix the fairing pretty good, though, and PO had put it down before, so wasn't a big deal.

>>28472815>It's very common to fuck up your arms/hands trying to catch yourself from a fall at speed.Yes retarded people do that. Everyone else just tucks in for the fall and hope they come out alive with no issues or just die.
You could have the nicest fall ever, only to stand up and get rekt by some fag in a prius who never saw the accident to begin with.

It's neat how many LC family parts were used in Banshee.

5K could be reasonable if it's in good shape. People hate seeing money walk away.
>>28477020It was an 88 twin cam, I was 2nd in line so the other guy bought it before I could take a look. I asked the seller how much he sold it for just to get a better feel for prices. He actually said $4300, which I believe since he told me he has some other bikes for sale so he has no reason to artificially depress the market. Then again I never got a chance to see the bike, the pictures didn't show a lot so maybe it really wasn't even worth $5k.
