So in your mind it's absolutely fine to smear urbanist ideas on this board but any argument to the contrary is met with being told to go to another board.
Cars are my hobby. Doesn't mean they belong absolutely everywhere and some of them, such as that Ram, are part of a boarder antisocial trend that so many here complain of.

diwcussing "urbanism" is off-topic spam, that goes on >>>/n/ or just go back to r/fuckcars, tranny. Trucks like the one in the OP are based because they have a higher change of killing cyclists

>We've known for years that the drivers of massive trucks, SUVs, pick-ups and vans are more likely to kill pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists in smaller vehicles, so how can we keep the average American automobile from getting any bigger before anyone else dies?

>That's the subject of a new report from the Road to Zero Coalition, which has put together what the group thinks is the first aggregation of academic and available research on why the phenomenon of car bloat is so bad โ€“ and what we can do about it.

>cafe
made emissions standard for small trucks impossible to achieve by requiring a fuel efficiency of 40+ MPG but you could get away with 20+ MPG all day with an xboxhueg SUV or truck
>carb
>clean air act
it's a matter of fact that EGR systems required on vehicles don't actually improve anything related to emissions and simply force vehicles to perform worse and add more, expensive parts to inevitably fail and/or harm the engine later on in during its service life
>further emissions lawfare
Dieselgate came to be when volkswagen was cheating emissions testing by programming the ECUs of their TDIs to check if they're being emissions tested and to spoof or "de-tune" its tuning to pass emissions. When the vehicle isn't being tested, the ECU tuned itself back to factory tune. That factory tune allowed the vehicle to achieve 40-50+ MPG, which is ludicrously good for a modern vehicle and is ideally the holy grail of what one with a diesel would hope to attain on a stock vehicle. Turns out that while achieving this incredible fuel efficiency, NOx was released more and that's heckin' bad, thus dieselgate was sparked

Nobody drives these monster trucks outside of USA. Even in poor countries where there is manual labor, they generally know better than to choke the traffic with these monsters. It seems only Americans lack the self awareness of seeing how retarded they look driving a construction machine around for grocery shopping. Americans are so fucking dumb and have been a plague on the auto industry.

The Ford Falcon in Australia. They're more reliable than civics.
The difference is RWD, stock LSD (some models), the highest towing capacity of any sedan in the world, and a 4L engine. And shitass fuel economy.
This is peak automobile, and it happened in some tiny backwater nation that never bothered exporting it.

Thats not it.
Europeans aren't ALLOWED to have trucks.
They've been brainwashed washed to believe that efficiency is the most important aspect of life.
They believe they're saving the world and being responsible by living in a 300 square foot apartment. They dont "need" anything larger. If the government tears down 5 houses to build a 50 unit apartment complex for refugees they cheer.

You can have a Hilux for like 45k in the worst country for cars (France). You don't pay the emission tax if you car has less than 5 seats.
The only reason why people don't drive pigfat trucks is because the cities are ancient with tiny roads where only a twingo can fit.
But people who actually need a truck can easily afford one (mountains, boat people from the coast, peasants, etc).

The problem with European cities is that apart from the ones the RAF obliterated they are largeley Medieval. If you want to park then you need to find somewhere fancy and new. A neighbor bought one of those Toyotas with a dual cab and eventually moved out because it didn't fit. You could argue that a smaller car would be simpler but people make their own choices.

Medieval cities weren't that large, so medieval parts of the modern cities are basically their historic centers nowadays. Tourist attractions, cool places to walk at (lots of them are already pedestrian-only at least partially, and I'm okay with that), but absolutely unfit for living or working unless you cater to the said tourists.

Anon already admitted the truck driver did nothing at all. And anon just impotently seethed in his shitbox. This situation is pic related with the truck driver representing America, naturally.

I kind of agree. It should be like motorcycles where you need to get a special license. These mega truggs and SUVS objectively make you more of a danger to society because if you hit another car you're more likely to kill the people inside. It only makes sense that you should have to be more qualified and really prove that you're a good driver in order to own one. People with DUIs, people who are low-sentience, etc. should just be banned from owning them as well

I appreciate all the (you)s but I cant respond to everyone.
Actually, I just dont give a shit about euros enough to reply directly.

Most of you europoors have displacement tax. My 6.6L would cost you 2 months wages to register every year.
Thats the "not allowed" aspect.
The elite penalize you for going off script. Meanwhile they're being chauffeured to the airport in a limo to board a private jet and flying off to a private island for their monthly vacation.
And here you are squabbling over vehicle choices of another country thay you'll never set foot in.
Why do care what I drive at all?
Its none of your fucking business.

OK.
We're going to have the same regulation for voting and reproduction.
If your IQ is less than 100 you get sterilized and are not granted full citizenship (no voting, no owning property, no firearms)

>Most of you europoors have displacement tax.
Either direct or indirect, like tree food tax. Or even horsepower. I know only a few European countries worth mentioning without any of those.
>Thats the "not allowed" aspect.
Add import taxes to that as well targeting all of the above, type of the car and year of manufacture. Or straight up import bans.

Don't people currently in power (not some imaginary government you dream to be a part of) rely on low-IQ masses dependent on them, because those are much easier to control than independent thinkers?

Fuel economy requirements get stricter the smaller your footprint instead of being fixed global goals. This means that car manufacturers have to spend more R&D on efficiency the smaller the car becomes, but aren't penalized for having a disproportionately less efficient large car. As a result, cars just get bigger and bigger because it's cheaper and cheaper to develop them as the fuel economy guidelines get higher and higher.
