Blackpill incoming. Most anons here do not own a sportscar, hell I'd say only about 50% of them own a car at all. They cope by saying "fun" cars are too expensive, or are too old, etc. Yet the BRZ and 86 are affordable, fun, and new. So they need a reason for it not be worth having, because itβs easier for anons to nitpick about MUH TORQUE DIP or MUH MCDONALDS than to admit the truth. Which is that theyβd rather spend their money on DoorDash, vidya, anime figures, and instant gratification.
All the while the 86 sits right there in the market (and my garage), perfectly attainable, exposing their lack of commitment simply by existing.
At the end of the day, the 86 like the Civic Type R or the Miata, a litmus test. Either you care enough about driving to own one (or something better), or you donβt.
You'll see a lot of it in this thread, car-less bus riders giving their ill conceived reasons why the 86 is bad, while real 86 and BRZ owners will always go on and on about how much they love their slow little shitbox.
