I live in the United States where the roads are filled with distracted stoners, niggers, tweakers, dicklets, and soccer moms driving bloated SUVs and truggs that can pulp you in an instant while playing with their phones. Further, all of these people are on a hair trigger and begging for a reason to kill as well.

20 minutes is the longest commute I've ever endured, at worst. I suppose the shortest two I regularly enjoyed was about 8 minutes, my favorite around midnight through around 5 miles of suburban thoroughfare, in a big heavy sedan.

I've been rear ended twice on my commute. in a car it was a hassle but not dangerous. on a scooter I would probably have been maimed for life.

Scooters? Hah, I'm not gay! get that TOY off the road! You better watch out because I have HUGE blind spots and I'm not looking out for you! you're responsible for your own safety, because my ve-hic-le is bigger!

Posting about scooters is actually a bankable offense in the motorbike threads, btw.

Too slow. Well mopeds are at least you can't legally take them on the motorway, some guy do and just ride on the shoulder with the cyclists.
Snd it's all fucking motorways around here.

Anything that can go more than 50 (peaceful stabbings per thought crime) is viewed as a motorcycle, and they're 3 to 5X more to register than a car.

Luckily Anything older than 40 years is a classic vehicle, and only cost $70 a year to register. So I'm looking at picking up an old 750 crotch rocket or something similar.

>I guess if you lived in a place where lane filtering is illegal.
More that traffic isn't bad enough to need to consider lane filtering. Still takes me ~8 minutes just to exit the neighborhood and get on the highway. From there it's a straight shot to work at 70-80mph, 6-8 minutes. I'd only save time on the exit ramp, and that would be a minute at best.

Don't know how's the driving exam where you live, but here it's rather difficult to get the loicense because of the circuit exam if you're not pretty well versed in driving bikes and get easily nervous.
But yeah, I'm probably getting some sort of motorcycle this year or the next, too tired of taking the car for stupid shit when I can just take the bike, park it in a little space and be done with my shit faster than with a car.

It's illegal to lane split in most places. Also winter. Why not just skip the faggy scooter and get an e-bike so you can blow down the pathways and get home in 5 minutes? Most people here could really use the exercise.

They don't realize that you can drive your motorcycle right off the lot after paying for it, even if you don't have plates or a license. If you're on a motorcycle, wear a helmet, and don't park it on the street then the police literally can't catch you.
There's also the possibility of getting sideswiped and dying on the spot

Nah. Scooters stop being useful the moment you can reach the shift lever on a bike. For the average guy, this happens after a few growth spurts. For an east asian woman, this may never happen

Are you the same retard from the other thread who won't answer what road specifically spooks him? I've ridden in more states than most anons, big traffic arteries and back roads alike. The states with the worst pavement are ones with heavier amounts of precipitation and frost heave. None of them are remotely near being "unsafe to ride" unless you have absolutely zero fucking skill.

The only advantage a scooter has over a motorcycle is the ability to park wherever the underseat storage, but not giving a fuck about parking and a top box fixes the issue.

Is this a troll thread? The cheapest Vespa is like $4500 + import fees and goes up to nearly $14000. You can get a way better sport bike, that can actually go on all roads, for the same price, or a cruiser or adventure bike if that's more your style for the storage options.

On paper sure. But over here cops have better things to do that mess with some dude on a scooter so long as you just have your license. I used to ride a Honda Shadow 1100 and still didn't get stopped.

My mom bought me a 125cc Kymco and she paid just under 4000 OTD. I don't know where you got the 14000 figure ftom. There's scooters that go for around 1k brand new but granted they are Chinese scoots (still good though and would last quite long if you take care of them)

Vespas are a lifestyle brand. If you want a Vespa but don't want to pay Vespa money you should get a Buddy. They look like Vespas but they are way cuter and cheaper.
Scooters are just better than motorcycles. I took my skills test on my mom's Sym scooter (it also looked like a Vespa replica. I forgot the name) and I was the only one who passed that day lol. There were big dudes on Harleys that completely messed up and it was so funny when in comparison it was so trivial for me.
