I just bought a used 2020 full sized luxury sedan at a price point that would’ve been enough for a new full sized Ford or Chevy, but they are not there to buy. I just got a job this past year and before I was in a few colleges getting degrees, there was nothing I could do. If they still made the Cadillac CT6-V V8 Blackwing I’d save up more and buy that shit but now I guess I save up for an AMG S-class or some other German equivalent

internally, the LS is the same size. you don't need a couple feet worth of front and rear bumber (and fins) to quality for full size.
all you need is something that comfortably fits 4 full size adults (aka, incl 6+ footers in the back), and also enough cargo space for their luggage. or, alternatively, the bodies of a couple burly italians (in this case, pronounced eye-talians).

It's not the oil weight, it's the crankshaft being incorrectly machined with too loose of tolerances. The bandaid fix for the known incorrectly made ones that haven't blown up yet is to increase the oil weight to 0w40, but the new ones made after (and machined correctly) still spec 0w20.

It’s pretty obvious why sedans died, every parent has kids in travel sports bc it’s the new way to stand out since they made the college exams easy as pie.
If you’re a DINK couple you just get a coupe or a compact
If you’re a single man you get a sports car
If you have any sort of outdoors hobby you get a pickup to put your dirt bike etc in
Sedans were sensible family cars when families reliably had 2.1 children and not they much cargo
Now they reliably have 1.7 children and a ton of cargo

If a car company released a sedan in the style of a 70s Lincoln Continental but with suicide doors, I think it could actually get a fair amount of sales if priced at say 50k. It seems most luxery cars have gone the European route of being relatively sporty and refined, which is fine, but I think it's neglecting the market segment old American land yachts has. Those boxy continentals had an imposing look to them and conveyed a sense of refined power, like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Now ideally they'd make these with a V8 or even a v12, but with the way the market is they'd probably go ev which truthfully isn't the worst thing for an overly large, heavy luxury car that isn't focused on handling or a sporty driving experience.
On the flip side, I do hope we see Ford and Chevrolet release their four door mustang and Camaro, respectively, even if a different name would be better

because 30 years ago was the beginning of the rise of SUVs as americans are vain retards that couldn't be seen in the same kind of car their parents drove and avoided them at all costs because the "image" was uncool rather than there actually being anything objectively wrong with the body style itself

Yes so the people with the purchasing power bought cars you didn't like.
so the companies decided to change direction
It's not that complicated
And no a rav4 or crv doesnt have any fucking "image," its just easier to drive than a sedan. Thats why crossovers gained popularity

That still doesn't change that now that I have purchasing power, they don't make what I want, so I physically cannot put my money where my mouth is and buy what I want, without fault of my own for not buying one because the body style withered away before I could possibly have had the chance.

How is an SUV easier to drive than a sedan? Do you mean just because of the higher vantage point or what?

>bigger mirrors
>bigger wheels
>better geometry
Meaning you both see more and can care less about small obstacles and road imperfections.

Yes, and easier to live with as well if you only have one car for a household, especially if you have kids.
>>28485383
That's too bad i suppose, but it's not just about you, there aren't enough people like you to sell these sorts of cars for a profit.

Won't fix these issues and you can almost always it yourself. What's the minimum wheel diameter that fits over your brakes?

not luxurious.
it has s-class tier space inside(well, at least normal s-class, not lwb), but vw golf tier materials and sound deadening.

if you're smart, you can get it with the 4pot from the gti and a dsg, which is actually very good, add a couple thousand euros worth of sound deadening, put some bilsteins on, and you have yourself a proper comfy little croozer. and yea, the plastics below elbow height will be hard and shit, but how often do you actually touch those.
also worth nothing, the trunk is cavernous, and it also comes as a wagon, which is even more practical.
