The combo of price point, reliability, comfort, and feature variety seems unmatched.

Ehhh sedans suck. You can't sleep or fuck in them. Most like this example also run those stupid rubber band tires. For me it would be a GMT800 Suburban. It's smooth, quiet, it has 90% of the luxury features a modern car has, you can crawl into the back and take a super comfy nap, etc.

I actually prefer the GS of that era. Same powertrain, same materials, same build quality, but not weighed down with useless rear passenger gubbins. Much much harder to find good examples today though.

A lot of sedans don't have seats that can fold down. The parcel shelf also makes it so you have to fit yourself through a tiny slit (not the good kind). This is also why they can't fit cargo worth a damn. Just a terrible vehicle configuration.

>>28481850
I had a wagon. Sure it handled but a SUV is far more comfy and practical.

>suburban is literally a truck
Okay??? So it's overbuilt and will last forever? Gee that sounds terrible!

>the interior is crap
Yeah it's not great but I can poke it and it doesn't snap, crackle and pop like a bowl of fucking Rice Krispies like a modern German or Jap car. You're also not sitting in a sea of fake wood grain or PGP and RGB LED's.

> the engine is pushrod
Oh No! It'll last 500k miles with no maintenance with a healthy diet of abuse! I can throw a china turbo on it and make 700+ HP. Man that sounds terrible!

E39 540is aren't as good as E39 530is
1. Steering rack > steering box
2. STRAIGHT 6 E39s feel massless on a backroad, whereas the V8 ones don't
And LOL @ it being stiff E39s are soft as fuck what are you even saying
And LOL @ it having "no soul" just because you say something doesn't make it the case

Its definitely the Lincoln Town Car.

The Lexus is a great car; but you can't get a good one anywhere near as cheap as you can a Town Car and if you're getting a LS430 you're getting a car that was discontinued 8 years before the last Town Car and which had a much smaller production run so its parts are rarer and more expensive.

>pricepoint
These are so overpriced in my area that it's not even worth considering as an option. Great cars but these are getting up there in age and you can get a lot more car for less. The only Lexus I would consider in today's money would be the gs with the 1uz or the is350, both of which are also overpriced but within reason.

Like >>28481839 said, I think the g80 specifically the v8s are the best luxury car for the money. Unlike the other engines Hyundai made in the 2010, the naturally aspirated v8 is reliable and the they packed every feature into the interiors of these cars. If you don't want changshit my runner up would be a w204 with a NA v6. They made a million of these and the few issues they have are non catastrophic. You also can work on them reasily compared to the retard shit you would have to do for an audi or bmw (mostly audi).

>3rd gen town car

This.

The Lexus LS400 and LS430 WERE the best values back in the mid 2010s. The cars were relative unknowns and you could find LS400s/430s in the 100k mile range for sub-$5k very very easily. Sometimes you could get them under $3k from old people for well-running and well-maintained examples. That's why they were a good value.

Today it's pretty hard to find an LS400/430 with less than 150k miles for under $5,000. It's not impossible, but you have to hunt, have alerts set up, and be prepared to buy the same day or day after somebody lists one at that price. Most of the time one of those cars with that kind of mileage will be closer to $10k if not even higher.

For that reason, I have to say they are not a good value. They aren't bad cars, and if you have that kind of budget, great, but don't pretend they are a truly good value like a Lincoln Town Car
