You also misjudge the power of the chinks, they now sell all sorts of CANBUS-compatible digital dash retrofits and upgrades, even to upgrade "old" infotainment systems - that even control things like HVAC - to newer software.
Picrel is a riced example, but it shows a 20 year old BMW E60 running a retrofitted digital cluster with software out of a newer G30 era BMW, and the antiquated iDrive replaced with modern Carplay/Android Auto.
I hate screenslop but I think the nu-cars will be fine. It's other shit that'll put them in an early grave (plastic engines, watery oil for better MPG etc)
