That's literally the lap time of an untapped GT3 race car. Assuming they can adjust for weight and BHP in the near future this would be a good test bed for setting e-GT parameters

What is that blurry word next to ultra, I think it says... prototype? So this isn't a street legal car and has no restrictions on modifications for lap times. This lap time is worthless.
>>28484769
The time is for a prototype as seen in the image. It is effecrively a race car given no limit on mods.

its not particularly inspiring to see a prototype turn a fast ring time. the inspiring part is when a production car can do it.
and even then, its not really inspiring unless said production car is also somewhat attainable.

i don't care how fast a chiron supersport can do it, nor how fast a rimac can. i care about the model S plaid laptime, because that's only ("only") 100k to buy, 120k if you add the track pack they used for it. to a lesser extent, i also care about the taycan turbo gt time, but to a way lesser extent, because that's 2.5x the price.

so, if xiaomi can do sub 7m25 (iirc its the plaid time) for the same price as the plaid + track pack or lower, then ill care.
until then, the xiaomi time is about as consequential to me as the 919evo time.

I wish the wumao would at least try to bait properly.
The only way that china is even remotely comparable to the west is when the wumao come out of their caves and intentionally mislead people on statistics.
With China's rapidly cooling economy, they fell 33% short of just the US economy, much less the entire west. The Chinese century was several hundred years ago and they're more likely to become a vassal state than a superpower at this rate.
Same goes for their cars. If they can't steal/copy US technology, they have no innovation.

>Ok so a chink bribed a race official to fake a single lap time? Thats an achievement?
That's a plausible theory, but not likely given the lengths BMW have gone to secure laptimes. BMW have been known to hire the whole track for their exclusive use for for weeks at a time, in peak season, just to secure the best conditions. While at the same time running trucks with jet engines to keep the track warm and dry throughout each day (even the days when they don't take out their cars). They also restrict media/visitor access, so it's more difficult for 3rd parties to observe their activities. Let's be honest, if anyone's bribing officials it's them.

Meanwhile Xiaomi assemble a car from parts found on the unlisted pages of ali express, covered up the seems with a yellow-fever paintjob, chucked in a bank of their none-exploding mobile phone batteries, and got a paddy farmer with no peripheral vision to go as fat as possible in exchange for a couple of dog steaks...

Xiaomi earned their laptime.
