In Canada you can get an M240i xDrive for the same money
>faster
>better interior
>better infotainment
>better fit and finish
>more reliable
>better auto trans
>better handling (no, Ford throwing 315 R compound tires on doesn't mean it handles better)
>better rust proofing
>more tunability
There's pretty much no point in the new 'Stangs

Also just a much classier car. You show up to an interview or date in the BMW and you're going to send a good message, they'll know you've got good taste and enjoy the finer things. Show up in the 'stang and they'll wonder how many murders you've committed.

Man they pushed the 'stang into expensive territory while also making it uglier inside and out.

As much as I prefer the American V8... damn I might have to agree with the brown canuckistani who suggested the m240. I mean yeah it is about $10k more expensive and not particularly great looking but when youre spending that kind of money on a shitbox you may as well enjoy your time in it.

Just optioned both US cars. M240i has the premium package and metallic paint, GT is a base w/ only options being wheels and performance exhaust. An equivalent GT Premium is about $2k under the 240, and that's without the performance package. WTF Ford

It's the most accessible v8 in the market now (by default if nothing else), but I think the ecoboost version is a much better value proposition desu.
Same handling, 4.5 0-60, 30+ mpg, under 35k price. Lot of cars on the road both slower and less efficient and more expensive at the same time.

The only points I would refute you on are the interior, fit and finish, reliability, better auto trans lol, handling, rust proofing, and tunability. So basically everything.

Anyone can install a Hellion twin turbo kit (under hood or remote install), supercharger, or use a standard tuner module on a mustang. Last I saw, there aren't many 1000hp M240's driving around.

Over a decade or so when ford first introduced them they had all the issues you might expect. Common bugbears like turbine bearings burning out, carbon build up, and oil leaks, got addressed in the 2017 redesigned versions; then all the new issues that cropped up with the new redesigned version like cam phasing or faulty ignition coils were addressed in 2020 updates.
Basically, you want a model built in 2021 or later. Trial and error has built up to this point and ford is benefitting now from being an early adopter of smallpot boosting.

>Car goes out production
>Suddenly ever single one of them ever sold disappear overnight

I had a lot of cars on my test drive list and an S550 GT Performance, M240i and M2 were on it. The S550 was fine but didn't resonate with me. When I tried to test drive the BMWs the sales guy hem and hawed about it despite being eager on the phone. After about half an hour of "asking their manager" I walked and went on to this Camaro.

Its amazing to think about how a 1SS was 38k-43k depending on year with the 1LE option being another 7k yet is still faster
than the S650 GT (48k+) and hangs with an M240i/M2 (52k/67k)

Its all the same shit from the same production line. Muscle car buyers didn't want turbos they wanted bigger engines. Even if that was to their detriment and a smaller HO engine was better having the bigger number on the fender was what sold.

It's the other way around in America. Boomers LOVE LOVE Mustangs to the point they'll start conversations and ask you about the car. Cops give you extra leeway for having a straight piped V8 while they assfuck every minority running a burble tune on their leased BMW. Unironically owning a Mustang or Corvette is one of the easiest ways to network with local boomers.

What a silly poster of an image. All that shit to run about 1 second faster and 25mph faster than a STOCK Coyote engine. Imagine buying an $80,000 BMW, then putting another $20,000 of work into it to be slightly faster than a stock mustang only to cite the fit and finish is slightly better on a car costing nearly double.

>It features a Gen II Coyote engine with a JLT cold air kit, and Matherly, a mega fan of manual transmissions, rows gears with a G-Force G101A transmission and a Ram clutch.

Its not even running an automatic for instantaneous shifts like a BMW too.

Here we cope. A new M240 can be had for less than a GT Performance Pack and the BMW still dumpsters it in many aspects despite the power and tire disadvantage

And I'm the one coping. Yeah, your $50k bimmer is a tune away from supercar acceleration.

Sorry you lost the discussion after your post, but I was pointing out the highly modified 2-series is running less than a second faster than a stock coyote. If you just like the BMW more thats fine, but pretending its faster and better across the board when compared to a Mustang is just wrong.

"""stock""" engine generally refers to stock bottom end. Depending on who you ask, you may be able to swap heads, cam, and headbolts/studs as its not an engine out ordeal while others draw the line at fuel injectors.
Also that power number isn't really a long term ordeal on b58s/s58s; 1stockf30, a crowning member of the beemer tooning scene, had his engine completely blow causing him to spin out in the oil puddle and die in a street race. Past ~700WHP is the "safe" limit on these, anything past that on stock block is just a fools game.

Honest question how is this relevant? Is that your car? Do you plan on doing this to your car?
>This one guy this one time spent an untold amount of time and money upgrading nearly every part of this car. The entire top end, fuel system, oil system, cooling system, intake, exhaust, turbo, transmission, differential, driveshaft, axles, brakes, wheels, tires, pretty much everything except the block.
>Also it only does 1500hp on E85. Also it can't even put 1500 down without warming up non-DOT racing slicks so you have to detune it to even drive on the street with street tires.
>Therefore a stock version of this car is better than a stock version of a nother car.

stang sisters are coping hard. Mustang would be a good car at like 35k, what its worth.

But as soon as it crosses the 45-50k threshold it gets rekt by a base model (M240i)

If it gets rekt by a base model M240i then I again ask what's the relevance of the super omega modded one?
And if you're comparing base model 2 series vs base model GT then what's the relevance of posting the stats of an M2 (not a base model) vs a dark horse (also not a base model)

>A non-streetable drag car
Its a street car that drives thousands of miles per year at drag and drive events. Hows that BMW doing on drag n drives?

Because the case of the base M240 vs base GT was already solved (common BMW win), so people are finding other stuff to try and gain ground on. What else is there to do while the earth spins

I didn't post that.

Yes a GT is superior to the 240 or 230 but vastly inferior to the m240i and M2.

Yet now, a GT with performance pack and a couple options is easily 50-60k, like the m240i.

Nevera weighs 5100 lbs and electric motors drop off in potency at high speeds. The Nevera would still be faster on the streets, just stomp it and go

The Mustang is more fun to drive than a AWD Automatic BMW with dead steering and open diffs that you'll constantly be coping with not affording the M2.

And you can get a base GT for under $40k in America.

I understand your feeling that a 'muscle car' without a v8 is heresy, but facts are facts; the turbostang is one of the best cars in the market now for a confluence of reasons and if you never knew that it was 'supposed' to have a v8 it'd (rightfully) go down as an all time great product for ford.
