Yeah I kind of regret not going all the way up to whistler but I was in Squamish to climb and I’m going back home to WA tomorrow, but gf lives here so I’ll be up throughout the summer when I have enough free time

The coast road up from north Van to Squamish was absolutely beautiful and the pic can’t do justice to how blue the sea was. Next time I come up here I think I’ll take the ferry to Vancouver Island, do a ride, then the ferry to Northvan up to whistler properly

Dear /dbt/, crazy day on the R6 today
Battery died on motorcycle while at gas station
Stranded for 3 hours
Friend drives 40 minutes to my house to get battery charger thing for my bike, I happen to say to grab tools too
We sit outside gas station for like 40 minutes waiting for battery to charge with no results
Random car pulls up and girl asks if the bike is mine and where I got it, I think maybe its stolen or something
She explains she's seen the guy that owned the bike, no its not stolen just sold
We talk about the bike, battery obvious super dead, she works at auto store and says to hurry it closes in 5 minutes across town and say her name to get 20% off
She says she's going to wait there and text someone that knows the guy that owned it and he would love to see the bike again
We go quick buy battery, return, there's like 5 people on super fucking nice suped up super sports and shit with underglow and stuff hanging around
We chat and they are super stoked to see the bike again with a good person (me)
More random people pull up behind the gas station because I guess seeing someone wrenching on a super sport and a bunch of other people with super sports is super cool and "damn i got to see what's up"
Like 10 people all hanging out chatting and helping work on my bike to take it apart and swap the battery
Bike starts RIGHT up and everyone cheers and hell yeahs
Got invited to a bike meet with tons of people and can meet the previous owner next week
What a crazy fucking day

Enjoy picture of one of the busas for reading

I kind of want a croozer too, preferably an M1800R or similar, but that's a few years off if it happens at all. I wouldn't mind the CB / CBF having about twice the power, but I won't replace them before they die so I'll probably never get something like that. hey guys soon to be first time rider here, I'm thinking of grabbing the Sidi Aria Gore Touring Boots as my first pair of motorcycle boots. I'm mainly planning on using my bike to drive around the city with light highway usage (Canadian here in Ontario so I'm most definitely not going on the 401 for awhile).

Would these be a good pair of boots? Originally I was looking at the Alpinestars SMX-6 V3 due to how cool they looked but apparently the Sidi's I'm looking at are more protective.

I read a review for these Sidi's and it said they're good as long as you don't go too fast but I'm not entirely sure what that means so what would you guys recommend?

Big mistake
First bike took an extra day because they were too retarded to look up the type homologation for the wider handlebar on the CB, which fucked up my entire schedule and pushed the CBF back by a week. Then the MOT guy said the steering head bearing needed to be replaced (he wasn't wrong), and they took 4 fucking weeks to get around to it.

Guys I just got my bike license. I really want a sport tourer, but every one of them is like 1000cc minimum and weighs 700lbs, but I really want something with a good seating position and an engine that doesn't need the piss rev'd out of it to go anywhere. The only sportbike I've really considered would be an sv650 because of the substantial aftermarket and the vtwin in it, but I don't know how ergonomic it'd really be seeing how its a popular track bike. I've narrowed it down to these other bikes as well. Anybody have any good suggestions? I don't mind a little heavier of a bike, maybe within the 500lb range, but I don't need 150hp on my first bike, cause I know I'll get curious on the interstate at some point. I do most of my riding on the highway and want something that'll be nice for longer stretches. I'm also trying to stay under $5k. I'd get a naked bike but I want something with better wind protection, so that gives me a lot less choices.

Check your online stores for deals first, I don't know the prices in your area.
I personally look for boots with;
>No gore-tex just get the brand's own water repellent tech, it's all the fucking same and you won't pay a premium for the gore-tex sticker
>If you want longevity sewn on soles, you can get a new pair of soles at any cobbler when they wear out
>if you want maximum protection at the cost of some walking comfort, get boots that go up to your shin with reinforcement
>Maximum longevity leather on the outside but with the caveat that you will have to take care of leather

Things to bear in mind, protection and comfort are usually on the opposite sides of the boot scale, because the maximum protection means it will restrict your movement a lot to prevent fractures and dislocated ankles, if you've ever had to walk in enduro boots those feel like walking with boots made from wood.
If you're okay with buying new boots when your synthetics starts to dry and crack or when your sole is worn, don't pay ~300 bucks for something you can't repair, go for something cheaper if it's gonna be discarded in 6-7 years and read up on safety ratings if that's important.
Look for deals online but always try the gear before you buy, good fitting well made boots are really important for your comfort.

I need a vote, should i buy a low miles 22 low rider s for 14k or not? i currently have a cb1100 and i've come to find it kind of boring. its a great bike, but it doesn't really do anything great, its also needs practically no maintenance so i don't even get to really work on it. i sold a vtx1800 a few years ago and i constantly think about how much i miss it and the torque. only reason i sold the vtx was because it scraped on almost every turn, basically had to follow speed recommendations through turns. im hoping the low rider can lean a little bit more than the vtx could. the harley having separate drivetrain components is also a huge draw for some reason, ive never liked motorcycle engines being an all in one unit.

wear the boot that fits your foot, always get a reinforced sole, wear long socks, try to avoid wearing regular footwear
NEVER wear steel toe capped

if you can, go to as many stores as you can to try them on, do the normal "walk around" new shoes test then try do some squats, you'll get a feel for how much movement you'll actually have

If youve got wide feet, prepare for hell trying to find actually well fitting shoes that arent gay as fuck (Harley Davidson boots)

They made every part (minus the doohickey) fuckhueg by comparison so while it's a heavy bike that is the size of a truck, it's a reliable one that will never ever die (minus the doohickey) and can be fixed for pennies if you have a metric socket set, some pliers, and a bottle of stiff whiskey.
