Lexus IS500 V8(naturally aspirated engine), still available as brand new car. This car comes with CD player. The modern idea how everyone should connect their phone to car systems is totally idiotic.

Better to be a millenial than a retard

i hate when autotragic cars have shifters to mimic a stick shift. just have it on the steering column instead.

I would rather kill you and your family instead. CDs, USB memory sticks, with some cars even SD card are the better and more secure way to listen music than any phone. Not to forget that CDs, SD cards can be left into car and are also more hideous.

You mentioned one of the consequences for connecting a phone into car, those things are saved into car sometimes even without user permission. I never will connect my phones to any car.

No, millennials are the ones who love this shit, he's either a zoomer or an Xer

The really fun part is how shitplay and the like use fucking bluetooth to actually transfer the audio
Doesn't matter the quality of your pirated audio files or how expensive your nuSpeakers are, you're getting bottlenecked by bluetooth bucko

What
How do you mimic a stick shift? I don't see an H-pattern etched on it

the fake leather boot, the stupid ass zig zag pattern makes normshitters feel like theyre doing big things

None.
All new cars now only come with satellite radio that you have to subscribe to because (((they))) want ALL your money.

So? You need something to cover the hole if you don't want to make it a plastic joystick like BMW does. Another option is covering it with a shield underneath like in pic, but it is less safe, because something can get into the slot and block the shifter or get that shield stuck.
>stupid ass zig zag pattern
It's not stupid, it's easier to shift without looking at the indicators with this thing. You have no chance to skip R and put it in N switching from P, for example.
>makes normshitters feel like theyre doing big things
So you must be an American. Nobody else can think of changing gears manually as "doing big things".

Well I mean it's not like you're obligated to eat in your car.

Food is usually soft enough, but coins, screws and other small things you can usually find in the storage space next to the shifter are not.

Carplay and Android Auto are total shit. CDs are unironically better.

The zig zag pattern is due to the actual, mechanical linkages going to the transmission, and brands like Mercedes were using the same shift pattern that brands like Toyota copied and still use today, but 50+ years ago (just with the upshift/downshift selector added). Lots of those early automatic Mercedes in fact had no brake + shifter interlock, which was part of the reason for the shape since it at least tried to prevent the shifter being knocked in and out of gear.

What are you talking about, it's usually a single cable.

True, but that's pretty cumbersome. The setup in my 22 year-old car is almost unbelievable for the purpose. Not only is the insertion slot hardly noticeable, the player is absolutely hitchless even with shitty burned discs. You can also page through tracks from buttons on the steering wheel right next to the volume ones. Even from the standpoint of the CD reader alone, it's amazingly advanced for 2003.

*the sound quality is also quite nice, and there are quite a lot of recordings that sound better behind my wheel than through HD600s

wasn't lexus also the last manufacturer to offer cassete players in their cars?
