In context, largest gas station pump has 120 fueling stalls.

There's also a 200 stall Tesla mega charging station coming in Florida as well.

It has grid connections, it just can operate independently without grid.

Also battery pack is large enough to support a lot of car charging. And night isn't very busy

Ah, you made it sound like it was off-grid completely.
I still think it should have *something* else there, either on the property or next door. Coffee shop, fast food joint, arcade, bar, even just a building like at a wayside where you can go to the bathroom and sit down on a bench next to a vending machine.

Its in the middle of the highway that needs some chargin stall. They're building lounge for rest stop as well.

Also, there's grid connection, its just that its not powerful enough to charge Tesla on its own, so thats why Tesla build the entire solar/megapack infrastructure to work independently with weak grid tie for backup.

Well yeah, they have to account for the horrifyingly low recharge times in comparison to refueling times. 1000 gas cars will move through 120 stalls faster than 168 evs can charge.

My little brother works for the union that builds those giant EV charging lots and I work for a regulatory agency that tries to shut it down. It’s a nice synergy and we both make a bunch of money but as much as I love my little brother he’s a blue collar simp for rich people and can’t see that every time my agency “fucks with his project”, he gets another week of stand around do nothing overtime and I get a cushy easy job that pays a lot to work from home and hit golf balls all day. No idea why the poor kid can’t see the big picture.

Those pull throughs are all getting destroyed within a month. You got people who aren't used to towing in the first place, and now they have to pull through at an angle? And the normal stalls are across from the exit so you physically can't go through at all if your trailer is long unless you get the one on the very end.

Well, 11 MW solar / 100kw charging cars = 110 cars. But 11 MW solar x 5 hrs of sun = 550 cars charging per day thats excluding grid power to pump in extra 100-300 cars slowly over time for the batteries

sorry my bad, correction this lot is like 760m by 867m roughly which could fit roughly 120 football fields within it lmao and of course it's out in the middle of bum fuck no where in central cali by farms and tiny town. It's effectively a fancy truck stop for EV, but takes up way fucking more land by a ton. What an actual dumb waste of land.

Funny enough it's not even near the big population centers of Cali since it's size would prohibit that. It's over 100mi from central LA and 180 from San Jose. It really is just a truck stop along an interstate for EV and like way more fucking land wasted.

Yeah sure, if your goal is to waste land then go for it. If your goal is to actually service the people of LA or San Jose/San Francisco then no lmao. Nobody in their right mind is driving over an hour to charge just to then lose 20-30%+ of that charge on the way home.

>nothingest of nothing burgers
>>28497154
>OH NOES WHAT WILL WE DO IN THE 3000 SQ MILE OF EMPTY LAND
It shows that this is impractical and NOT THE FUTURE OF SUPERCHARGERS. YOU CAN NOT PLACE THESE NEAR ACTUAL POPULATION CENTERS. Maybe Elon should actually help California fix their energy Grid and make compact charger stations if he wants to actually help people and not waste land, but of course that's not helping his wallet so he's not going to do that. God forbid he helps fund a Nuclear Powerplant that would power all of the chargers on the entire west coast at a fraction of the land used, that would be way too logical!

I'm glad the BBB is now taxing solar and fucking over Elon because this is a waste of space and a terrible solution instead of fixing an energy grid issue.
