I think he’s got some points but also he’s a retard. The hardcore Audi fans generally are pretty causal though and don’t worry about the shitty mechatronics or ZF8 slop in cars or the 1 piston calipers on the S5 or the drum brakes on the Q4.

Generally I think this video is bad. Why? Bc trivial shit like badges and which plastic they use for the logo is not important. Audi sees fans about that it’s no big deal to change. the R8 can be had in AWD and RWD. that should be the case for all RS models

The R8 is mid engine so it has the engine behind the driver and close to the rear axle and uses a little Haldex like clutch pack to add torque to the front when needed. Removing that clutch pack is easy and then it’s RWD.

The RS5 is front engine mounted ON the front axle and it is FWD unless you add the crown or Torsen center diff which then moves the power to the rear and front. If you made it RWD you would be adding a long prop shaft which has vibration issues to deal with and ignoring the purpose of mounting the engine on the front axle, which is simplicity.

Further you’d have the negative of the engine being on the front axle for weight but wouldn’t have the upside of AWD. Which makes the car nonsensical as opposed to doing a BMW like mid front engine for better balance.

The macan RWD does this btw. But it’s just bad for performance. It’s just no good. All the bad qualities of Audi with no upside.
