>>28510199When you get a little autistic into maintenance, you start to hate the idea of submerging the undercarriage or wheels unless it's built up against it. Even on a car from the 90s, for example my Toyota, some things are just protected by grease-slicked oil/dust seals. There are the wheel bearings which, no matter how well built they are can let water in, CV boots, and the most common thing is the driveline. This obviously doesn't include all the non-lubable suspension parts like solid axles, wishbones, knuckles, etc. Every so often I hit the grease nipples on the driveline and read through the recommendations toward vehicle maintenance, and you want to hit those far more often if you're driving in deep water or mud.
Oh yeah and now that I think about it, differential cases are ventilated. Why the fuck would you want that in the diff oil? Like after trying to maintain my vehicles I legitimately think people who go mudding are retarded. I don't like street queens either, but maintain your vehicle(s) and don't just bury your car in liquid shit.
