maybe they need to produce and market some badass cars that revolve around the modified car scene. easy to repair/modify, minimal electronics, cheap, fun, rwd sports cars
you see, we're entering a new age of poverty and people want vehicles they can fix cheaply, or on their own to avoid mechanic fees
if nissan produced their 90s and 00s lineup with similar simplicity, i bet they'd sell

this one cuts me deep. they said they had it nearly production ready at the time of the show. market data supported the release of the iDx and they gave a general price expected to sell. then they just...didn't release it. loved this little car.

Bro, 86 sells like 40 000 cars a year, whopping 0,4% of Toyotas annual production. Despite what you see on /o/, Mustang, 86 or MX-5 are not company defining cars but rather if Nissan Rogue Sport sells 200 or 250k units a year.

I should also add that oftentimes when a company does a refinancing operation, it's to take advantage of lower interest rates and essentially "lock in" lower payments (this is often why callable bond issues are made in the first place, so as to have the flexibility to redeem the outstanding debt and replace it with cheaper debt, should the need arise) but, somehow, I don't think Nissan is doing that.
