The non-comp F87 was a relatively affordable car and came with the N55 engine, giving it 'only' 365hp, unlike the more expensive F87 competition which had the 410hp S55. The G87 skipped the B58 entirely and came with the S58 from the beginning (making it a much more expensive car than the previous non-comp M2) giving it a baseline of 460hp. Secondly, the burgerking lap time was most likely set on Michelin PSS, which are shit by today's standards. The F87 comp should be able to get into the mid 7:40s with comparable tires (PS4S).
I'm sure the new M2 is faster, but on a track that long the difference is not big enough to matter to anyone who isn't a (bench) racer.
