Technically most coupes are "hatchbacks." Eclipse, Integra, etc. Because the trunk opens like a hatch.
But those aren't what actual people refer to as hatchbacks. We call those coupes or liftbacks generally.

Doesn't matter what term you use to describe it. The rear cargo area is part of the passenger cabin and is accessed by a top hinged hatch door. It's a hatchback. Categorize them with all the sub-categories you want, they're still hatchbacks.

Nope, a HATCHback has a steep angle on the hatch - less than 45 degrees from vertical.
The purpose of this distinction is that "hatchback" is a class of compact car, so the hatch must be compact.

No way Jose, it's way too unwieldy and impractical to be a good hot hatch, it doesn't even handle that well. The 182 runs circles around it, and the Trophy leaves the V6 even further behind.

>A station wagon (US, also wagon) or estate car (UK, also estate) is an automotive body-style variant of a SEDAN with its roof extended rearward over a shared passenger/cargo volume with access at the back via a fifth door (the liftgate, or tailgate), instead of a trunk/boot lid

Sorry bro, I didn't make up the definition, this is just how it is. If it is a coupe (2 doors) with a hatch on the back it's a hatchback. If it is a sedan (4 doors) with a hatch on the back, it's a wagon.

Being young might make this not obvious as the industry has been trying to phase out the station wagon terminology for a while because everyone thinks station wagons are lame as fuck and people are far more likely to opt for it if it's referred to as a hatchback or crossover.

The term "Sport Utility Vehicle" was purely a marketing gimmick.
4x4 is not mandatory and a model T has higher ground clearance than 99% of modern SUVs.

Yes terminology changes over time.
Being an SUV does not change the fact that its a wagon.
An AMC Eagle would be classified as an SUV.
An Isizu Brat would be classified as an SUV.
Bronco, Eagle and Brat are 3 completely different vehicles that cannot share the same classification of any automotive definition.

>Revealed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the fourth-generation model eliminates manual transmission in favor of a 6-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission (Efficient Double Clutch) developed by Renault Sport engineers. The new model now comes with a 1.6 L (1,618 cc) DIG-T Nissan MR16DDT inline-four engine, which develops 200 hp (147 kW) and 240 N⋅m (177 lb⋅ft) of torque. Mfw everyone forgot about the Volvo C30.
The R design version had a 2.5 liter I5 with a turbo making 227 hp with the American exclusive limited edition being tuned at 250hp.
Still mad the real Polestar edition concept with 400hp and rwd/awd never went into production because the C30 was dying as the result of an aging interior, being quite heavy for how small it was, being "boring" looks wise and fwd.

Try 20kg. and did I mention it's the same drivetrain, but has wishbones? I had a hawkeye for 6 years, currently 5 years into a narrowbody hatch. They're very similar and the hatch wasn't what killed Subaru, it was other companies getting faster while Subaru got cucked by emissions laws, gave up, and started producing cuckovers because they sell well.
