Why is the diesel engine tge best there is?
>being a chad means doing the weekly gas station refueling humiliation ritual
>>28519949 (OP)>burns too slow to utilise RPM>all power must be made through torque instead>therefore all the components of the driveline must be engineered to a higher torque threshold >therefore it always ends up being far heavier than a Petrol engine of equivalent powerA crankshaft which spins to 10,000rpm doesn't actually need to be that heavy, on a balanced engine at least, but a crankshaft which can transmit 10,000nm of torque without snapping itself in half sure does.
>>28520579Except where there's no gas stations.
>>28519949 (OP)Because it's the best shit to crooze!
>>28519949 (OP)because Rudolf Diesel was one of the most enlightened and underappreciated thinkers of all time
>>28520956Yea, you need to put gas in the canister for it to "work" as you say
I would love EV's if they solved the battery related issues, ala charging speed, energy density and weight. I guess I cant expect much when ice cars have had 100+ years to get where they are now.
Electricity is much cheaper than gas and you can have stupid amounts of torque in an EV. They are just fat, have shit range and charge too slow/ cant be charged in as many places.
>>28521045>I guess I cant expect much when ice cars have had 100+ years to get where they are now.The EV predates the ICE car lol. Batteries have had plenty of time to mature but they haven't because battery propulsion is hopeless.
>>28521101What's funny is the same people argue ev charging is nbd because you have to spend 20 minutes pissing like a diabetic on road trips anyway.
>>28520575To me this isn't a bad thing, diesels tend to last longer because they are overbuilt. I like my shitboxes to last 300,000 miles or more.
>>28521121Plenty of manufacturers have built big gay slow revving long lasting petrol engines too m8e
